Would people stop bitching about the Martirosyan fight (on three weeks' freaking notice :shakehead:) if Golovkin a) knocks Martirosyan out and b) unifies with Murata in September?

...nope, guessing they probably won't.

I mean, that statement could actually be germane to a GGG match-up. It was just wildly inappropriate to say during his dominant beat-down of Blandamura, though.

Middleweight division is in shambles, GGG-BJS or GGG-Canelo II in September are the only fights that will bring order back to the division.

Murata ain't earned a shot at the kingpin. Murata vs Derevyanchenko winner vs GGG would be cool tho

I mean that's fair. Technically he only holds a single win over an elite MW (in the N'dam rematch).

Who do you like in Murata vs. Derevyanchenko, if we're lucky enough to see it?

Murata looks very strong in most departments to me. Open to the left hook ....but few other obvious weaknesses.

Tough fight, id have to stay on the fence. Just cause both would be in their toughest fight. Who'd you pick??

I want more fights like this, GGG is on the tail end of his career. These fresh contenders should have to duke it out for a shot a GGG

I like Murata better than Derevyanchenko but wouldn't put money on him. I could see him getting schooled and even sliced up with counters to a cuts or ref's mercy TKO.

Really not sold on Murata at all.

I personally think he's made for Golovkin and it would be a fight in which GGG would look very good in.

    GGG stoppage in 8.

What I don't understand is why GG doesn't just wait? No one is forcing him to fight in May...

Vanes is inactive and in one month notice or less... At least GG has been active and training for a while, This is a huge mismatch

Because waiting a full year in your mid-to-late thirties watching the last vestiges of your prime slip away isn't a great idea?

The more time that passes, the better chance Murata has. GGG is just getting older and slower. His power will still be there, but his motor, and durability will keep getting worse. I think Murata's best match up is BJS. I think he does extremely well against boxers and has fought plenty of that type in the amateur system. A GGG type guy would really test his chin and heart, which we have no clue about.
