    When Vanes fought Andrade he weighed 166lbs. he is 6 feet tall. He knocked Andrade down, he also beat Charlo, but was cheated. Vanes will be a pretty good fight, he is bigger than Golovkin. Golovkin should knock him out, but it should be a war while it lasts!

    Well, this chapter of the story has drawn to a close. V-Mart gave it a go, and for being a rusty and short-notice replacement coming up in weight he certainly didn't embarrass himself. Golovkin proved that, while doubtless slipping in the last couple of years, he's raging against the dying of the light and can still flick the switch and become a destroyer.

    Are the haters, even if reluctant to give any credit for this performance given all the contributory factors, going to be satisfied if he follows up with Murata in September, as rumored? Or will nothing but the Canelo rematch do? And if they end up in separate bouts instead of meeting up on their anniversary eve on Mexican Independence Day, will the Canelo stans find a way to spin giving him more credit for beating Spike than Golovkin will receive for beating Murata? Because that'll be some trick. :deal:

    Martirosyan got KTFO in less than two rounds. Anyone who expected anything different than what we witnessed DKSAB. Jr MW, 2 years of inactivity, no defense.

    GGG on the other hand proved he still does what he does best, KO overmatched opponents.

    I was not surprised in either of the 2 rounds. I've watched too much boxing and GGG to not see that this was the only outcome. I do admit I thought GGG would carry him for at least 5-6 rounds, but no sense in doing that when your opponent has respectable punch.

    If you don't realize that Martirosyan was selling out and employing a go-for-broke strategy hoping to score an early lucky blitz of Golovkin (figuring it was his best & only chance) and not in the least the way he usually fights, then you DKSA V-Mart. He is fully capable of having survived for several more rounds, if not the full distance, if he played it as safe as he did versus, say, Boo-Boo.

    Martirosyan was there for the paycheck, recognition, and gamble. He was clearly not there to win as it was evident he did not have the goods to get the job done.

    2 years off. If you don't understand how detrimental that is in a sport like boxing, then you're not as knowledgeable as you'd like to think.

    Clearly GGG was using the first to feel Martirosyan out. I usually don't use the 1st round to gauge how a fight will play out. Even Garcia on Friday gave up the 1st round only to go and win every round after that. It's a common thing in boxing, and amongst top fighters.
