Hopefully GGG's team sees the fan reaction and are pressured into taking on a top level opponent.

If Derevchenko is willing to fill in on 3 weeks notice, why won't they just get their mando out of the way? Am I missing something?

    Very good questions.

I'm starting to think its not going to be Vanes for those reasons and that fact he is a JrMW, despite many GGG loyalists defending it.

I think GGG will be pressured into fighting a credible opponent. Spike O'Sullivan is not credible.

I got a feeling it will be DChenko.. Its the logical choice, and isn't he going to be stripped of his IBF if he doesn't?

If they can't come to terms with the IBF and Dibella GGG will no doubt be stripped of the Title. If Lou doesn't budge it could indeed be Derevchenko GGG is forced to fight May 5th. Fingers crossed.

    WTF is wrong with them?

Vanes isn't even a MW, he hasn't fought in 2 years and his last fight was a loss.

They're desperate to get Vanes in the ring that they're willing to risk losing their IBF title. So much for wanting to be undisputed...geez.

I don't remember seeing a top level opponent go through so much trouble and media circus just to get a low level opponent.

    O'Sullivan Loser
Mungunian 154 21 yr old prospect
    Martisoryan 154 Loser

Can they at least fight a top 5 or top 10 MW FFS.

Have never been high on Vanes at all. Was called a "hater" by his cronies on here when he was at his peak.

Any opponent is better than no opponent. Glad they could salvage it even if I think they severely failed given that they had 5 weeks notice.

He has only done that 3 or 4 times his whole career, so def was never going to happen on 5 week notice with behind the scenes drama to boot.

    Which circumstances are these?

It is my understanding that GGG in fact has options with top level opposition.

How do you justify dragging JrMW Vanes up to MW, who has not fought in 2 years, has never fought at MW, has never been a world champion when there are other fighters willing to fight Golovkin, whether it be in May or a couple months after.

Disagree. I think making a JRMW "contender" move up to MW after 2 years off, after his last fight was a loss, and with only 4 weeks to prepare is down right LOW.
