Golovkin has gained weight consiously for a while now, proably since before Rosado. Abel Sanchez has mentioned this. 2012-2013 Golovkin could have made 154 without significant problems.

I don't think GGG starves to make the weight. I remember reading Doug Fischer's tweet (or article) that he saw GGG having pizza for dinner a day before his fight.

Saying that Ouma exposed Golovkin is like saying that Sonny Banks exposed Muhammad Ali (Banks knocked Ali down in that fight).

When a fighter is so dominant, people exaggerate any sign of "weakness" they see. The same thing happened with Mike Tyson. In one fight, Tony "TNT" Tucker landed an uppercut on Mike, and the commentators went crazy about it, saying stuff like "Tony Tucker may have found Mike Tyson's weakness!".

Boxing is about moments, and in a brief moment you can let your guard down and a lesser fighter might hit you. That doesn't mean you got exposed.

    Nice.
Although I'd consider GGG as pure of a boxer/puncher you can have.
Thurman to me would be a boxer/K.O. Artist to differentiate between the two.

in that case Castillo exposed Floyd as a hypejob!

yes, people will cling to any weakness they see in a great fighter and say things like "oh, he caught a straight right and moved back, he has a glass chin". though thankfully it's mostly idiots who hate a particular fighter, not real boxing fans :yep

    Bad comparison.

We know what Ali was all about by the great career he went on to have.

Has GGG went on to beat ATGS and hall of famers to scrub away a particular performance? No.

It took Ali the best part of a decade. Give Golovkin a chance

Ali had close calls with Jones and Copper , then beat Listion , all in the space of 6 months.

And do you think fight fans and critics welcome him as a future legend after that? Hell no. Most thought it was a fix.

It wasn't until the Frazier fight that Ali started to get his props from the hardcore community.

Wrong. The fix allegations didn't surface till decades later.

Ali was a superstar after beating Liston. You don't know what you are talking about.

Why was Liston's purse suspended and a senate hearing commenced?

There was no evidence found to prove it was fixed. Its was thrown out and Liston revived his purse.

First you say there were no allegations of a fix until decades later. Now you state the investigation into a fix which commenced almost immediately uncovered nothing.

Would you like to move the goalposts any more?

The sentiment was shown by the rematch. Liston was still a huge bookies favourite, and the phantom punch did nothing to dispel any feelings of a fix.

Whether it was a fix or not, it tainted Ali in the eyes of many. It was only when he went into the trenches with Frazier he got the credit he deserved.
