All I'm hearing about this guy is how he's whooping everyone in sparring from 154 to heavyweight. how no one below 175 wants to spar with him. this is coming from the mouths of his sparring partners and trainers.

Reminds me of the days when edwin valero had this mystique about him. sparring with erik morales, juan lazcano, mike anchondo just to name a few. and basically handling them!

Also both have reputations as monstrous punchers, and having a fierce work ethic to prepare for battle.

:deal Great article man. Julian Jackson said GGG fights alot like a prime Chavez of course without the defense, but still very similar that's what I've been saying all along. Golovkin is the future of 160 and 168.

“I’ve sparred with heavyweights who can punch, including Mariusz Wach and Mike Perez, nobody has hit me as hard as Golovkin. His power is out of this world.” -

thats insane! golovkin is probably weighin in at 175 in camp

Isn't there a thread on GG sparring Cotto? Last I heard Cotto was getting the best of him. Don't know what has transpired since.

Valero was another tragic Boxing Story,27 Wins for 27 TKOs won his first 18 Fights with TKOs in the first round which is a record, murdered his Wife and then Hung himself in prison, sad end to an enormous talent and troubled sole.!!!!

Does anybody have any insight into GGG's training routine? What does he do for strength training?

yes i heard the same, guys who had sparred both said valero hit harder. a boxing trainer who had seen victor ortiz and valero hit the bag says valero's punches were somat else compared to ortiz's- and i think ortiz is a big punching welterweight who can probably go upto middleweight if he had the heart, and knock guys out

What people forget about Golovkin is he had a sensational Amature Career over 300 Fights and now 24 Pro Fights in that time He has never been TKOd and never been on the canvas also,so he has an enormous Chin and Brutal Power in both hands,His opponents are very aware of His amazing Power and Chin thats why none are in any hurry to Fight Gennday,He is number 3 Middleweight in the World and struggling to get a fight.!!!!!!

Some random Puerto Rican poster said that but Golovkin's trainer Abel Sanchez was interviewed a day or two later and confirmed that they had not sparred and that Gennady had actually been out of the country for a week and just returned.
