As a matter of fact, an undefeated record means that you've not stepped up most of the time.. This is definitely the case with GGG.

 

I don't know man. Monzon, Hagler, Robinson, Hopkins, Greb, Walker, Burley. I see him more at a Freddie Steele level, a bit better than Martinez. I'd give him props for a long reign and a flawless record if he went to 46-0 like Calzaghe without facing serious competition but I don't know that I could give him much more than that.

GGG has a small window to salvage his career. Setting the record # of MW defenses will be a feather in his cap but he definitely needs some name fighters on his resume. The Canelo fight will probably take place next year but unfortunately for GGG there are really no other name fighters around MW so he would probably
have to move to LH for the winner of Kova/Ward to really prove his greatness.

His record isn't as good as Martinez' yet, but he is a better boxer. He ought to be compared to guys like Calzaghe and Ricardo Lopez, who could have done a lot more if they had the gumption or opportunity. Rigondeaux and Lara are a bit like that too. Got started late and then had a tough time getting fights, but everyone can see the talent is there.
