I'm inclined to agree with this, with the option to change my mind going forward.

Hopkins was irrelevant and green at the time. GGG beats that version no doubt...

When did he fight Roy? '93? '94?

He was definitely green, but he was still pretty crafty. Ergo, I have plenty of doubt as to whether or not GGG beats that version of Hopkins.

Jones at 160 hit as hard as GGG, and was much faster.

So slow of foot that he was on top of Monroe for every second of every round. Every guy who's fought Golovkin commented as much on his punc accuracy as much as the power. Educate yourself and realise that throwing 5 punch flurries and doing Ali shuffles isn't the be-all and and-all of hand and foot speed.

I gotta say I think Golovkin is a great fighter in the making. He reminds me a little bit of Chavez Sr, Trinidad and Arguello the way he picks his punches very well. Like Chavez Sr he likes to leave his head open but he sees all the punches well and rolls with them this allows him to set up openings for his tremondous power shots which are thrown with pin point precision. I'm still waiting to see him face another very talented fighter like Canelo or Andre Ward even Cotto could answer some questions. But for now will just have to wait and see I speculate from what I've seen of him against quality opposition he is going to turn out to be a great fighter but history shows you never know. I can't really accurately make a prediction on how he'd do with guys like Jones, Toney, McCallum, McClennon till I see him face fighters in the same in a similar class that they are. There are only a few fighters in the world which Golovkin could face that are in that class.

IT has been reported that GGG will fight Froch next @168 pounds. Great match up and kudos for GGG moving up to make it happen.

If Forch wins, he has punched his ticket to the boxing hall of fame. If GGG wins, he will have a signature win above his normal weight class, which is something neither Monzon or Halger can say.

If the fight happens, I see GGG inside 8 rounds.
