I am not happy with the role GGG had in national team, but it was important that a kazakh (by ethnicity) must get a gold and I feel sorry for GGG in terms of this.

 

It was rumoured before the start of the Olympics that there was only one gold medal quote for Kazakhstan and in KZ it was clear that gold will go to a Kazakh. Victory of Artayev over Saitov was quite interesting. There was a rumour that in the view that KZ will get only one gold there was an agreement between Russian and Kazakh team.

I am also trying to find GGGs quote where he said that politics played role in medals distribution among teams in Athenes. He also complained that this was a reason why Kazakhstan didn't even put Nurzhan Karibzhanov in their list and gold went basically for a Bulgarian team.

 

Golovkin is, by far, the best 160 lb. champion in the world today...............just ask El Pollo Alvarez and chicken Cotto, who both broke the WBC rules to avoid fighting him.................Oscar will never allow Chicken Alvarez to go near Golovkin.
