Floyd didn't make Canelito do anything...plus...Alvarez didn't have any power to drain. GG is a middleweight....if he wants to make a name for himself he can do what Mayweather does and what Broner is doing....move UP and wins some titles...:deal
Much as it goes against the grain (an' I'm sure 'Nelo woulda prefered the 154) I'm also in agreement. Golovkin needs to move up. There's plenty saying he needs to clear MW and that would be the ideal - I'm hoping Maravilla will take the fight at 160 when fully healed. However, unless new challengers appear at 160 (or Quillin becomes available) Golovkin has little choice but to look upwards to make a name for himself.
Do you not give any credit to fighters who dominate a division for a long time like BHOP did? I agree that to move up in weight makes sense at some point. But GGG should establish himself as THE guy at middleweight by holding onto the title for a while and beating all the top 10 guys (if possible).
If that's the case stay at middleweight and fight middleweights don't call up smaller fighters if you don't have the nuts to move up.
you seem a tad confused, allow me to help. calling a mayweather fight "impossible" in no way, shape or form constitutes a "call up" (i presume you meant "out") by golovkin. better now?
it's odd how people on the 'net seem to think they're in a position to instruct boxers on what they are and are not allowed to do. in response to your question, it might go some way to proving floyd is deserving of the accolades some on here attribute to him.
