oh Quillen only only won it because he knocked the other guy down 6 times? that could be the dumbest assessment ive ever read :rofl
Not entirely at all. If Ndam would have stayed on his feet and continued outworking Quillin for the remainder of the 12th round, I would have scored the fight to Ndam by a point. Ndam won the majority of rounds which didn't feature a KD.
"if" maybe you can use an "if" it talking about 1 knock down, maybe 2. but 6? thats like saying the Red Sox would have won if they Yankees wouldnt have hit 6 home runs. because those are the only hits they got. david haye would have won if he wouldnt have ran from wlad for 12 rounds. ademek would have beaten vitali if he were the same same size. see where i'm going with this
I do. And it's true. The difference is that yours are hypothetical. Ndam ACTUALLY DID win more rounds that didn't have a KD scored and still would have won on many peoples' cards if he only got KD'd four times rather than six... all I'm saying.
I didn't write down my scores, but this is one of the rare fights where I absolutely wish that I had. 4, 6, and 12 were each 10-7 rounds for Quillin, right? Can't remember if it was 6 for sure... I know I gave 1, 2, 3, and 5 to Ndam. Don't want to say for sure about 7-11, but I think I gave all but one to Ndam.
Kid choc was bringing the title back to USA no mater what but what happens when he fights a real contender...? He's going to hit the canvas..
Abel Sanchez says in this interview that Golovkin could fight on January 19th as the HBO calender for December is filled up. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fgzGY7-ZW6w[/ame] Who could the opponent be? Sergio Martinez? Not a chance. Needs an operation to his knee and has a secure payday in May with Chavez. Daniel Geale? no. Will fight Anthony Mundine instead. But he will have to give up the WBO belt. If the WBO belt is up for grabs in January it would be a big plus. Felix Sturm? maybe. If his former WBO belt is up for grabs then Felix might feel forced to take the fight in order to stay relevant in the sport. Imagine ducking a chance to both get on HBO and win back the belt he lost in September. It would be hard to argue with even the most patriotic german sports journalist after that. Chavez Jr? No. Another date with Martinez planned. Dmitri Pirog? Maybe. If his back is well. At least he is not avoiding Golovkin. Matthew Macklin? Maybe. He has been on HBO before, has a UK fanbase and could need a payday. Martin Murray? no. No US visa possible due to past encounters with the law. Has something for November anyway. Peter Quillin? no. Being groomed by HBO for bigger things. Hassan N'Jikam? no. The french are not that stupid. Daniel Jacobs? no. HBO will make his recovery a nice and warm story. Already scheduled for a HBO fight in December. Contenders Darren Barker and Kerry Hope are fighting each other in December so I guess just Brian Vera or Sergio Mora are left if nothing else works out. All in all Golovkin's management should be able to secure a worthy opponent. The choices are better now after the Proksa fight. If we are lucky it will be Pirog, Sturm or Macklin. If we are unlucky it will be Sergio Mora.
According to Thomas Oosthuizen's manager, there was talks of a Golovkin-Oosthuizen fight at a catchweight of 164, but they had to turn it down because Tommy wouldn't have been able make the weight. I think that would have been a very good fight.
