All this but yet he wanted to fight Ward at 164.

The WBC shouldn't allow consistent catchweight defences imo. Canelo should be willing to fight at 160. Golovkin should be willing to give up some pounds. There is no good guy in this situation, only losers: us as fans.

Of course the division is worth unifying.

Every single division is worth unifying.

Fractured belts make a mockery of the sport.

Take SBW, I'm paying the best part of 100 quid to go see a "unification" fight between Frampton and Quigg, despite neither being the champion, in fact Rigo is the champion and was in a total unification fight Donaire, yet politics led to a re fracturing.

I wasn't aware that ggg is the champion at 168, when had that happened. Moron, that's the only way there's any similarity between the 2.

You must be a true boxing fan

WBC has no control over catchweights and has said as long as both are under 160 they don't care.

Golovkin is the one who cries about being ducked only to dodge his shot every time, how many times do you get to side step your title shot before people stop buying into it

I had hoped when Canelo won we'd see him become a full middleweight, he's not made light middle in almost 2.5 years. But this whole situation at middleweight is bullchit. It's situations like this that make this sport a joke to non boxing fans.

Where do you get that he's side stepping? Alvarez-GGG was never in play for spring. Both sides agreed to have a tune up, and fight in the fall. Nothing's changed. Everything you're hearing now is just noise to build that fight up.

Then again, Ward-GGG wasn't in play for spring either (and never at 164), and we see how that gets brought up all the time. :conf

Seems like people like to pretend these things happen on the timelines they make up and piece together from whatever interviews suit their agenda.

What's so great about unifying vacant belts. 3G will be happy to fight a nobody for the vacant WBC belt and that's the problem.

    122 is a division that calls for a unified champ. As is 140 , 147 , 175, 200 ....

Yet him calling out Welterweights and accepting Catchweights against them to get a payday is absolutely fine and respectful to Boxing. Oh, and his chain fights against overly matched bums where he charges into the ring shamelessly as a 150/1 favorite is absolutely fine too. No wonder this joke's fans mostly consist of mentally incapable losers.

I agree with GGG. If you are the lineal MW champ, fight at 160 or step aside.

I wasn't aware Chavez Jr had a belt at 168 but GGG wanted to fight him there. GGG wanted no parts of Ward at 168 period, moron.

So what is the point of mandatories? We've already seen Floyd duck his mandatory for three years. So I guess they're pointless.

Bruh GGG has been side stepping his shot for a year and a half. Could have pushed a Cotto fight and twice stepped aside for Geale and Canelo and is now side stepping for Amir Khan.

I didn't bring up Ward or Lara or catchweights or any of that, I'm talking specifically about Golovkin how are you ducked when you agree to side step your shot over and over that doesn't even add up right.

Gennady is exactly right C/w BS should never be allowed in title fights. The WBC are plainly corrupt they want a Mexican as their champion. Suliaman jr is just like his Dad
You call Golovkin fans " mentally incapable losers" right?? What does that make you GGG haters ?? IDIOTS??????? Everyone know GGG is the peoples middleweight champ This includes the proud Mexican fight fans who have turned against Canelo . Don't forget it was Mexican boxing fans that gave him the label
    !!!! EL POLLO !!!!!!! BAWK!! BAWK !!
