Both of these Russian speaking fighters were dominant in ONE weight class. Golovkin seems to get more love than Tszyu, naturally since he is still active, but which of these two single weight class fighters will be remembered as the better fighter, more accomplished fighter? Kostya Tszyu is a 3 time world champion, and won 15 title fights. He beat two sitting champions, and has names under his belt such as: Roger Mayweather Hugo Pineda Rafael Ruelas Miguel Angel Gonzalez Julio Cesar Chavez Sharmba Mitchell X2 Oktay Urkal Zab Judah Ben Tackie Jesse James Leija Gennady Golovkin is a 3 time world champion, and has won 18 title fights. He beat one sitting champion, and has names under his belt such as: Daniel Jacobs Kell Brook David Lemieux Daniel Geale Martin Murray Which beast from the east is P4P higher?
ggg is a auper kostya. he does everything better and has better of everything. they do have very very similar styles. I remember in 08/09 when I was (speedkills) I told all we had a super kostya, a kostya on roids that supermaned him. that's exactly what we have, but he's super ggg
It is a premature comparison when one is a long time retired and the other still active and currently holding multiple world titles.
Tszyu was a great amateur and pro fighter who would travel anywhere to fight. He gets slighted nowadays because he ended his career getting mugged by Hatton after several years of inactivity and injuries. But notice he was not afraid to go to England for that fight. And Mayweather fanboys hate him because he beat Roger and later on Floyd ducked him. I don't know who is greater, but Tszyu definitely had a hall of fame career. People are constantly comparing him and GGG, which makes no sense since their styles are very different. I believe they spoke the same language though.
Tszyu is a great fighter no doubt, but so is Golovkin....................they are both great fighters.............
They are very different fighters. Tszyu is more accomplished, however, I believe on a p4p basis Golovkin would beat him head to head.
