THE MAN....is literally nothing. Any poster can say., "oh, XXX was the man" depending on who they like or which boxers "NAMES" they recognize enough to give a bit of respect.

 

The whole terminology needs to be changed.

Cotto was the lineal champion.

But for someone to label him as being ‘The Man’ is just a joke. Especially under the circumstances.

 

'THE MAN' title has been used for years here, as if it holds water. That bucket has a huge hole in it, always has.

 

M.S. clearly stated that GG was the real champ.

Yet G Man has an issue with that, because he didn’t beat the lineal champ which was Canelo.

Yet Canelo wouldn’t fight him.

So IMHO, there was no need to keep asking M.S. who GGG beat.

It was obvious what point he was making.

IMHO, you should have had no issue with that at all.

The only issue, would have been if both guys had wanted to fight each other, but for some reason they weren’t able to.

All tradition and prestige went out of the window years ago.

Two JMW’s fighting for the lineal MW belt at a C-W, with no intentions of fighting GG afterwards, was nothing but a complete joke.

There is/was nothing wrong with M.S. calling GG the real champion, when the lineal champion wouldn’t fight him and he’d cleared out the rest of the division.

Exactly. And that is what being a big name in boxing affords you. Remember when Shane and Oscar fought at 154? Would anyone have really considered then the top guys at 154 w/ Winky still there?
