    You're trying to simplify things.

    Did video footage not exist when Roy was prime?

    Did other fighters not study him?

    How would you even have prepared to fight Roy in his prime?

    Roy's style was unique.

    There was only one Roy Jones.


    He wasn't shot against Tarver, but he clearly wasn't prime. He was 35, with 50 fights on his resume, and he'd dropped back from HW.

    All credit to Tarver though. He caught him with a peach. But a southpaw in Tarver catching Roy at 35, isn't evidence that GG could have figured out a prime Roy's style and then beaten him.

    I don't know how anyone could have favoured GG at this stage. As great as he's looking, he's hittable, he's not exceptionally fast, and he hasn't beaten any top fighters.
