you can argue that at least GGG is being active so it doesnt matter too much in the immediate future to be fighting a top top name.

But after a couple of years and about 10 fight that excuse has run its course. His next fight has to be one of the other champs or someone like murray.

The one grace from this is that at least its not too long away so he can get this fight over and done with and HOPEFULLY move upwards.

I think after this stay busy fight 3G will fight someone like Murray or Barker - Sturm winner ?

I don't see a 3G vs Martinez fight happening in the future cuz Martinez is looking after some fights with Cotto and Canelo to cash out.

Quillin is with GBP/SHO and I don't rate him a better fighter than Murray or Barker. Actually I think these 2 guys would beat Quillin.

Anyway 3G does a good job having stay busy fights.

I think the ones that are disappointed the most with this fight are GGG fans, the others are just glad they have an opportunity to b*tch about his competition again while faking to ignore than the best contenders refuse to fight him.

My guess is that Murray - GGG will be announced shortly after Monte Carlo.

He's the mando and it's a big fight for him, but it's worthwhile for Murrays career and confidence to get in a coupla winnable fights in the meantime to buffer against the likely fallout of a GGG loss.

Interestingly Khomitski, Murrays 'stay busy' was one of GGGs early wins (also a rematch for Murray FWIW), then Murray is next fighting on the same card as GGG - coincidence?

Yes, but despite their records (or freaking Boxrec ratings  :patsch) anybody with eyeballs can watch footage of them both and realize Duran would cause more trouble for Golovkin than Adama...even though, yes, at this point, with all the years of wear and tear and with Korobov having softened him up there is a strong chance teak-tough Duran would succumb and not make it the distance with GGG. It would still be a harder night's work for Golovkin while it lasted.

Going by the # of losses or how many points a computerized algorithm spat out for each to proclaim Adama better than Duran is the very epitome of ignorant lazy "Boxrec warrior" fandom.

Yes, and if Adama fought all the same people Duran has fought he would have twice as many losses.

The point though is that all these racist black fans who hate Golovkin are bagging on GGG for fighting the #1 ranked African middle weight. Catch the irony?

You saying the #2 guy is better is just semantics, both suck, and I think that was his point.

Jeez. The number of ignorant people in this forum is astounding. Not only do people not know how to scout boxing talent, they don't even know how the structure of the sport works. He's the IBO champion, this is his IBO mandatory. Everyone saying GGG is fighting scrubs or bums on purpose must not know how being a champion works. Champions have to fight people the organizations put in front of them or they will be stripped of the title. This is GGG's IBO mandatory. He has to fight him or be stripped. End of thread. If the mandatory passes on the fight, as Martin has done in the past, then the organization goes down the list of contenders until someone takes the fight and then that person fulfills the mandatory challenger spot. GGG has been ducked by Geale, Sturm, and Martin (among others) -- it's a fact. Sergio Martinez's promotor Lou DiBella stated (it's on YouTube look it up) that putting Sergio in the ring with a monster like GGG is not a good idea. So, GGG would have fought many top ranked fighters if they had the balls to get in the ring with him, but boxers know how to scout other boxers. They see the talent. They don't have to see a resume to know who is good, they see the skills in the ring, and no one wants to risk their title or record against GGG, and that says all you need to know about GGG. His amateur record was 345-5 (one of the greatest amateur records in the history of the sport), he has an amazing skill set married with amazing power and great defense. People say his defense sucks, but slowmo/frame-by-frame through the Macklin or Stevens fight. Shots that look like they land in real-time, in slowmo are rolled or blocking with shoulders, arms, and gloves. Stevens even said right after the fight that he just couldn't hit GGG cleanly at all the entire fight, and slow-moing through Stevens' supposed big shots that GGG took show they don't land cleanly at all. So GGG haters can troll forums all day long, but if you're betting on his fights -- including his fights against elite competition coming later in 2014 or 2015 -- you'd be a fool to put money against him (unless he was fighting Andre Ward... then I'd bet against him). He's the real thing.

You obviously stumbled into the wrong forum, this is East Side Boxing - nobody cares about anything technical or factual, its all just splatter mouth back talk to discredit any fighter that threatens your own fighters glory. Please take your logic someplace where it will not offended the racists in this thread.

I don't really care about his point or his agenda, nor any of the squabbling between racist factions on either side. I'm just not going to sit by while someone claims Adama (whose record is padded in the W column and flattered with the presence of a shot-to-hell version of Made-In-Hell Karmazin, and the even more shot version of Bad Boy Brewer whose last even remotely solid outing was the Guerrero upset and that itself was a last gasp for the faded ex-Contender star...and let's not even start on Adama's losses; if you allow Donovan George and Dyah Davis to outbox you, something is very wrong...) is superior to Ossie Duran. Forget about their records, that simply isn't the case. Michael Sprott had upwards of twenty losses and certainly a much lower rating on Boxrec when he fought Edmund Gerber. Yet he proved to be the better man. Same thing here. Adama has an inflated record, like Gerber. Duran is better than his record suggests, like Sprott.

That's a fair enough assessment honestly. The Golovkin evangelism has started to get a little out of hand given how poor his opposition was so far, which is why people dishing out hyperboles left and right have come across as really fckin stupid.

Nothing wrong with backing a fighter you find exciting though.

Didnt know he was IBO mandatory. If that is the case, then indeed.. no criticism is credible at all. Unless you also want to go back and criticize BHOP for fighting Murat, as well as thousands of other keep-busy fights that were for some reason required by a sanctioning body over the years.
