According to the scene Proksa was supposed to be fighting Darren Barker in September until they entered last minute negotiations for GGG who is desparate for an opponent.

I have to admit that I was really looking forward to Proksa V Barker.
That said, given the short notice for anyone who would be willing to get in with GGG, I think this is a great opponent.
Ultimately GGG will be in with a European champ who has only one defeat.
If the Proksa that showed up against Sylvester meets GGG it could make an intriguing fight while it lasts. I'd still fancy GGG to win by stoppage or UD but not without some difficulty due to Proksa's style. And in an exciting development, GGG would be stepping up in terms of level of opponent in my opinion. So there is always the underdog's chance!!!:deal

big mistake for Proksa to take this fight on such short notice, Golovkin is an absolute top opponent who requires a proper training camp, sparring partners etc.

I know Super G will give it all he's got, however, even if he's the underdog

Yea I think Proksa might of been abit overrated, but by no means will he be a walk in the park for anyone. Like I've said he's like a watered down version of Maravilla and Proksa is at his prime at 27 he could still improve maybe to Maravilla's level one day. GGG is the real Super G tho. I think the best way to beat him is to outbox him. Proksa if taken lightly can upset anyone. If he fights intelligently and avoids Golovkin's fight ending right Proksa may pull off the upset. But if GGG gets to him mentally its already won by Golovkin. This is a year of upsets you just don't know, but boxing is interesting once again.

Gennady Golovkin won a world amateur championship gold medal and a Olympic silver, with wins over Bute and Dirrell.

Proska not sure checked boxrec but no mention of his amateur career.

Good replacement for Pirog if this comes off and much respect to Proksa if he takes this fight.

I think it's just talk on Proksa and Matiroysn's part to keep their names in the media. I'm very afraid Golovkin's first HBO debut is going to be cancelled and forced to wait longer.

I dont doubt Golovkins talent but who exactly has he beat

hes being labeled as this murderer in the division that everyone is or should be shitting themselves over

I dont see why Proska cant win, i like this he lost his 0 won the rematch and is taking a big fight

most guys now wouldnt fight a Golovkin til they won a title then fight him if at all

I believe, without a doubt, that GGG is the man at 160. The big problem is that he is avoided and already 30 years old.

Too big of a fight for Proksa to take on short notice.

I would prefer that he is totally prepared for his first title fight.

Ruptured disk, atleast 3 months, might have a fight at the end of the year and likely be a tuneup before he goes and fights N'Jikam, who's likely to be made the WBO champ in the mean time. So he and Golovkin could be put off for a very long time, which I'm kind of glad. They're possibly the best two fighters in the division, the fight between them should be a little more marketed than each's premire in August which is a slow month for boxing.

I agree. I was pumped for this fight, but i'm kinda glad it won't happen.
