atsch FFS, I'll repeat it for you yet AGAIN: STYLES MAKE FIGHTS. Great fighters have been knocked out by average fighters who have gone on to do NOTHING. What has Proksa gone on to do?? Do you call Puritty a world class fighter because he KO Wlad Klitschko?? What has he done in his career? Honestly, you're shooting yourself in the foot yet again and all for the sake of trying to troll.
No Proska was undefeated and looked like a world class operator in that fight, a much better fighter than Purity, you just refuse to give Proska any credit because he is GGG's best win. All boxing fans know styles make fights but world class fighters can adapt to any style in order to win...
Nice try. I'm just agreeing with what you said before you started your troll campaign. After all, it was you who said Sam Soliman would be a much more credible opponent. What does that say about the quality of Proksa (according to you)? "Adapt to any style in order to win"? Yet it took Proksa two tries to beat a domestic level Kerry Hope and showed one of the worst defensive displays against both Hope and Golovkin and has never held a world title? Is that your idea of world class? atsch
Unless you have something intelligent to add, **** off troll. You don't contribute anything to discussions with your one liners of bull****. You don't know **** about boxing and I highly advise you don't comment on it because you embarrass yourself every time you do :hi:
I think Proska had a bad night in the first Hope fight It took Geale two tries to beat Mundine. I considered Katsidis to be world class even though he never won a world title. But seriously if you call Sylvester world class than surely Proska is, Proska would beat Sturm IMO Remember Geale has struggled with domestic level fighters.
BTW most guys here dismissing the Kerry Hope win over Proska have probably not even watched the fight , Kerry wasnt quite the mug you think he was in that fught yes he's done now but Kerry could have a decent row with the mitts. You Aussies would have respected him if he was a true blue .
Getting dropped is all part if the learning curve Prowler so I wouldn't hold that against young Geale mate and I ain't seen the fights you mentioned so can't pass comment on whether he would have beaten either of them . All I know is Kerry went anywhere and fought anyone but over archived winning the Euro middle title but win it he did .
It doesn't matter. He still lost and showed no improvement after the second fight. One of the key signs of a world class fighter is that he keeps improving. Proksa did not. Are you seriously comparing Mundine to Kerry Hope?? I don't like the man but he was ten times the fighter Proksa was in 2009. Geale was a raw and untested MW and a very good case can be made that he won. Mundine was a top 5 MW at the time (or top 10 cant remember the Rings exact ranking) and Geale arguably beat him. So thats a stupid comparison. Katsidis is a toss up. He had the power of a world class fighter but lacked the skill of one so that's anybodies call. Sturm would put a Zbik like performance on against Proksa. Sturm would break him down using that jab of his and possibly stop him late. Proksa is not world class. Like I said before, Styles make fights and his was all wrong for SS. It happens. He went on to lose to domestic level KH and showed no defensive improvements against Golovkin. That is not the signs of a world class fighter. So has Andre Ward. He's gone on to be the undisputed SMW champion. Geale got dropped a few times in his career and has gone on to unify to major world titles. BTW watch the fights. He always went on to comfortably win each of these fights that you think he "struggled" in. Like Josey said, it's all part of the learning curve.
So Geale was till raw when he was 28?? Ward won the Super six before 28... You keep saying styles make fights maybe Hope's style was wrong for Proska. Losing to Hope is not worse than Choc losing to Wood so by your logic Mundine was a complete bum going into the 2nd Geale fight...
Geales level of opposition up to that point was very low, so yes he was raw and had little experience fighting top 10 opposition. Ward is a much more talented fighter than Geale and there is no shame in admitting that .Ward beat Abraham, Kessler and Froch. That's all there is to it. You would have a point if Proksa didn't fight Hope again. But he did so the style argument there is not very valid. Proksa was just **** and needed two go's to beat someone who is a domestic level fighter at best. If he went on to beat a top ten fighter, he would definitely be a world class fighter, but the fact remains that he didn't. Mundine losing to Woods is far worse. Not to mention how crap Woods is. That was an embarrassing loss. However. the fact remains that Mundine at his peak could hang with the top guys (not saying he could beat them). He was ranked in the top 3 at SMW, top 5 at MW and has held two "world titles". So no, my logic does not apply at all because of Mundines achievement and level of opposition. Let me ask you a question now: Do you consider Sam Soliman to be world class?
Thats a good question, he has some decent victories and also gave Winky Wright a very tough fight. He may very well be a drug cheat. Yeah he probably is world class but obviously not elite level. The reason I say this is because he has beaten fighters that most Australian domestic level fighters would not... Also Mundine should never have been rated in the top 10 at middleweight IMO he was only ever good at 168...
