Gennady Golovkin vs. Artur Beterbiev if both were the same size.

True he was dropped by Johnson. Although GGG was very, very cautious and concerned about Lemieux's power. It was obvious who was the harder puncher in that fight. Beterbiev will be the puncher against GGG. And he will not loaf around the ring like a doofus just eating 1,000 jabs because GGG is too sissy for "Mexican style". There will be nowhere to go. GGG will be looking for breathing room and there will be none. GGG is no quick footed boxer like Bivol. He is a cement footed boxer-puncher-pressure fighter who is a jack of all trades, but master of none.

 

Completely disagree. GGG is a very good boxer, but no Usyk. Hes a very hard puncher, but no Lemieux. Hes a very good pressure fighter, but no Chavez. Hes arguably the most stylistically well rounded fighter since Marco Antonio Barrera. But he does not specialize in any style. I'm open to consider that GGG is a master-boxer like Pep, or he punches like Hearns, or he pressures like Frazier. But thus far (having seen nearly every single solitary GGG fight) I've yet to witness such abilities. Jack of all trades, master of none.

 

You make some good points here. Maybe I'm overrated Beterbiev, but I cannot see a lead footed good boxer-puncher-pressure fighter besting him. Like I said, which I've yet to see evidence necessary to move me, Golovkin does everything very well, but does nothing GREAT.

In the Gvozdyk fight it became clear that Gvozdyk didnt punch hard enough to beat Beterbiev. He doesnt box well enough to beat Beterbiev. And hes no phonebooth pressure fighter (hes pretty inept at pressure to be honest). So there was no avenue for a 12 round victory. And there is none. I dont see any avenue for a GGG victory. He simply cant punch hard enough or move well enough.

 

Giving you a like because at least you're putting good thought behind it, although I remain unconvinced.

 

Maybe you need to watch more of Golovkin's footwork. He is anything but lead footed. He has some of the best footwork I've seen. Always balanced, always controls the range and cuts the ring. Beterbiev has similar footwork but its just not as good.

P4P Golovkin is one of the hardest punchers ever at 160. Blow him up to 175 and he'd cave guys faces and ribs in. Well, he's already doing that, but more so, I mean.
