Regarding Andre-Kov, I'd like to have seen Andre have another fight before fighting him next year. Although he and Hunter obviously feel the time is right, otherwise that's what'd be happening.

I think Andre can beat him.

I really hope he does beat him.

The fight is more important to me than a GG-Canelo fight.

I kinda of hope Ward wins too cause i dont believe he can. Kovalev is just too savage a puncher. Over 12 rounds he WILL connect. And Ward's jaw isnt sturdy

If Ward gets in the ring with him and beats him no hater can say anything from then on. No "Kovalev was overrated" and exposed garbage. Kovalev is the real deal and beating him would be arguably the biggest win since 40 year old JMM put prime Manny to sleep for 5 minutes

I think Andre can frustrate him. But like you say, Sergey has huge power and that could be the difference.

Regardless of the outcome, Andre deserves huge props for taking this fight, because he really didn't have to take it.

It's been a travesty how his career has played out within the last 4/5 years. But people have to realise that due to circumstances, every opponent after Dawson have all been tune ups because his career has been stop-start. I understand the frustration, but he gets a lot of unfair criticism in my opinion.

 

Ive been a big hater. He won the Super 6 without leaving his back garden, refused to fight his most dangerous opponent there in Dirrell, made it clear he had no interest in fighting the always tricky Hopkins, then refused to fight Bute when that fight was open to him (allowing the Cobra to rightfully become the biggest SMW in the game)

His win over the drained to death Dawson means as much as Manny's over Oscar

And he's done nothing since the Super 6

He really deserves the criticism he gets mate

And its seems half the people on here are expecting him to pull out of the Kovalev fight anyway

But like i said if it actually happens, and he wins, then no one can question him and all his previous antics get wiped out

I've always given him a pass for Bute, and in my honest opinion he would have gone on to have fought him had Carl not destroyed him. But we'll never know.

Yeah, his win over Chad meant nothing. I've read John Scully's account of the absolute nightmare that they had in camp. But I think it's unfair for people to say that he dragged him down to SMW.

I don't know the specifics with his issues with Goosen. I can't comment on that, but I think it's unfair how people criticise his last 4 opponents. If he'd fought them all back to back in say a 12-18 month period, then without wanting to be disrespectful, you could say he was on a "bum of the month" tour deliberately avoiding tough fights. But again, that wasn't the case. He needed to fight those guys when he did due to the huge lay-offs he'd had. But I'm willing to accept that the contractual disputes may have been down to him. Again, I don't know. Maybe someone on here has more information on that.

 

Why is telling the truth seen as hate on this forum. By Golovkin is not what boxing needs. Boxing doesn't need another over hyped over managed media creation.

Saying that GG dragged up a WW to fight him isn't telling the truth.

I don't see how he's been over managed.

 

Over the last few years both GGG and Ward have been managed very well in terms of avoiding the dangerous fights but still being highly ranked. Kessler/Froch/Bika are the only good Andre Ward wins and they were at least 5 years ago. GGG's best win is Geale or Murray and both of them are C/B- fighters.

Both of these fighters still get HBO money and not any closer to taking dangerous fights. Ward will pull out of the Kovalev fight with a fake shoulder injury.
