Imagine if he had said yes to Ward. Imagine the paper work, the delays, the tricky negotiations ending in Ward going very quiet and the fight not happening.

This is better than GGG v Ward cuz it actually may happen. Ward talks until its time to talk then seriously shuts the fukk up.

Being that Hopkins is over 50 and isn't a top tier fighter any longer, Hopkins could be competitive if the fight is contracted at 175 lbs.
Golovkin can weigh where he's comfortable at below 175 lbs.

A 175 lbs Hopkins vs Golovkin at maybe 165 lbs could be interesting.

Yeah he is but not by a whole lot. One difference is Hopkins doesn't mind traveling to fight.

Leave Bhops to his language butchering. He's proven his metal.

Remember a retired guy named, Sugar Ray Leonard, and what happened when he came back for Hagler's MW title? :yep

Remember that dude George Foreman who retired after Ali, and what he did when he came back?

    You must have forgot.

Hopkins is 51 years old for crying out loud. He'd been fighting on borrowed time and the fact that he won all those fights in his 40s was quite something, but no one beats Father Time. He took a hammering in his last fight, over a year ago, against Kovalev. Not only did he take a lot of punishment, nearing 50 years old, and hasn't fought since, but he actually for the first time looked on the slow side.

Hopkins's speed has always been underrated. He's never been a Camacho, Leonard-esque speedster but has always had pretty good speed, which he also made more effective by throwing straight shots at the right angles and distances that they didn't have to travel as far. Hopkins actually looked rather slow against Kovalev.

No it's not. It's a pointless fight and another way to put GGG on PPV... Another flop it will be.
