Well, whatever you said, I disagree with with all my entire being, if that upsets you, I'm glad. I'll leave it as that, seeing as you are merely some Alt with too much time on his hands, you won't be wasting my time further.
I haven't backtracked on anything. I've just been mildly poking fun at your frenzied, incoherent posting style. My thoughts on the matchup were already posted before you arrived and turned the thread into an adolescent shout-fest. As I recall, your thoughts on the matchup went something like, PRIME ELITE GOLOVKIN YANNA YANNA YANNA GREEN TRIANGLES ARE MY FAVORITE QUALITY STREET RAH RAH RAH KESSLER AND GROVES BLAH BLAH BLAH AND FROCH DUCKED CLEVERLY GRRR GRRR GRRR EASY NIGHT FOR GGG HA HA HA EVERYONE ELSE IS A FANBOY BUT NOT ME! Am I right?
Yes, I know, you don't need to read it to disagree. All you need to know is that it doesn't bow down and fellate the GGGod. Well, that's not dramatic at all. Definitely not something that somebody who's worked himself up into a fanboy lather would say.
"GGG steam-rolls through 160lb Taylor and AA." No mention of Froch here!?! Only one of us needs an eye-test, I'll book you in tomorrow if you want. It must be all those days you spend under that bridge moonlighting as a Troll, you just don't see enough sunlight to be even worthy of wasting my time any more. Cheerio, Trollie. xx
If it is a front-foot heavy war, I'd favor Froch; If it is a boxing match, I'd favor GGG. I think Golovkin is the more skilled fighter of the two but if he slugs it out with Froch, I think he loses. If GGG uses his boxing skills like he did against Lemmy, I think he could outpoint Froch over 12 rounds. Good matchup, I'd have loved to see it.
Kindly book yourself, because you still haven't figured out that my message didn't contain the word "steam-rolls". That's the second time you've told me I wasn't worthy of reply. Also the second time you've sent me kisses.
Have to echo this, Froch was tough as nails & heart of a lion, but skill was very low down on his priorities, GGG is an expert pressure fight, one of the best ever imo, Ward schooled him & GGG would certainly do the same in a more emphatic way!
Putting aside your post's churlish closing words, this one's interesting to me, because Golovkin pretty much defines B+ fighter by my lights. Which isn't even an insult. Elite? The most rarefied status a fighter can aspire to while active. What has Golovkin ever done to qualify that distinction? Elite by contrast to the fringe caliber muck that MW was filled with for years, but truly elite?
It has to be GGG on this one, Froch could have faced him and didn't that's for sure. GGG has always had a great chin and is looking good thus far, whilst Froch also has a great chin, OK he has been put down a few times. In the groves fight it was very interesting, watching how nervous the Cobra was even in the first round, he was scared he didn't want to be there, this was evident when he was put down very heavily. Groves bullied him, and almost knocked him out, but failed to capitalise on his success. Groves Bullied him for most of the fight to be honest, and Groves is no GGG... There is no way on earth GGG would have let the Cobra see out that second round, Froch would have been out of there. I think it would have been a great fight, and such a shame it didn't happen because it would have been edge of the seat stuff, but Froch would have two fights in there that he would have to overcome, his nerves for one, and then GGG, as well as having to revive and keep Rob motivated during the ring walk, watching the oxygen being administered to ADDAY when GGGs music starts!!! GGG for me.
Interesting comments from Froch today, he picks Eubank to beat GG, shared some sparring stories as well, saying he hit Eubank with a few of those right hands that KO'd GG, and he just carried on. A MW taking flush right hands from a career 168lber and just carrying on, wtf is this trickery.
I think Abel gave Golovkin a definite stylistic direction, molded on his particular compound of strengths, and created a serviceable professional fighter, where he might otherwise have become one of those guys who gets caught in between styles as a pro. He still has the ability to box a cute fight up to a certain level, and that allows him to show some degree of versatility and ability to methodically defuse bangers like Lemieux (although I think he was perfectly capable of launching a seek and destroy mission to take that guy out earlier without too much risk; such is the primitive level of the Quebecer's aggression, I can't see how Golovkin's superior technique wouldn't have won out in exchanges of fire), but a more bullish approach is better for him against handy outboxers, especially any who might hold particular attributes over him. I feel quite differently to some of the other guys in the thread, in that I think Golovkin's best route to victory with a guy like Froch would be to look to hunt him down rather than trying to play the range/jab game with him. How anyone appraises Sanchez' work on Golovkin may depend on their individual expectations for the fighter, though. I've never thought of him as the kind who would look infallible when faced with real world level competition, so I think handling him is a matter of figuring out a style that gives him the best shot at having a consistent pro campaign and being competitive with most (if not all) guys he might face in the course of a career. And based on that, Abel's done fine. Adopting your precise, mathematical template, I'm guessing a 30 year old GGG knocks Lemieux out in about 4 rounds. Weren't you stressing the importance of prime earlier in the thread? I tend to estimate a boxer's proximity to prime form by the degree of visible decline exhibited over a period of time, and Groves is certainly less of a gun than he used to be. I think most of us are picking Eubank to beat the tar out of Groves. The real fights are just like sparring, too.
carl was tested to elite level at smw, 3g hasnt, although he has drawn at elte level as a MW. gotta give it to carl really, until 3G shows his worth at SMW. and he will, trust me.
Froch and Kessler were pretty much on the same level. Kessler wasn't ever a clear level above Carl. He was a very good fighter, but never elite. If GG had really been capable of beating Carl with absolute ease, then he would also have been able to have beaten Kessler too. It makes no sense to state that he'd have beaten one with ease but then would have lost to the other one. Joe and Andre were proven SMW's, who were bigger than GG. Again, GG isn't a big guy. He's 5'10, with a 70" reach. He hasn't got the attributes that Joe and Andre had. Again, we've never even seen him have a single fight at SMW. So at this point in time, it's silly to predict he'd have beaten the likes of Carl with ease. There's just nothing to base that opinion on.
Froch wins late via stoppage imo, ggg style is perfect for a fighter like froch to take advantage of.Lest we forget Froch only lost to ward really imo the kessler loss was razor close.
