I scored the fight for Golovkin after 8 rounds, 6-2 rounds, 78-73 points, giving Stevens the 1st and 4th rounds. I thought Stevens was winning the 2nd round with his jabs until the knockdown, but from then on, Stevens was in rope-a-dope survival mode. Granted, he still managed to win the 4th round by landing the 3-4 best punches of the round in the last 30 seconds, but otherwise after the knockdown he mostly covered up at the expense of threatening Golovkin with any offensive attack. Especially in rounds 6-8, Golovkin was simply unloading at will, and he obviously no longer feared any return attack by Stevens. The stoppage by Stevens' corner was 100% appropriate, there was zero point in him continuing. Still, game effort by Stevens, I think he actually elevated himself tonight into Top Ten discussion at 160. As for Golovkin, it was a methodical, relentless performance, yet I think Stevens lasting 8 full rounds may "humanize" Golovkin, and make others more willing to face him.

 I like his effort to talk for himself but he needs to use a translator till his English gets decent enough to make sense.

It was clear Golovkin could just move up a gear at will. He decided round 8 was time to get him out and executed.

Golovkin vs Quillin is the fight to make. Seriously, Quillin is tremendously underestimated.

  8. Quillin went life and death with Rosado and would lose badly if the doc didn't rescued him .. GGG with fever and flu schooled Rosado .. QUillin is a exposed hype job and will go nowhere.:rofl

Rewatch the fight. Gabe barely touched him. Just being objective.

Good call on that over, I was looking at a tko5 but Curtis really showed some heart. He also had decent success with his speed, specially on the counter but was just kinda overmatched in the end.

TBH I can see Stevens making life really difficult for anyone at MW, and he's even mentioned he could go down to LMW.

It was a good call in the end though, Stevens was essentially done, I ain't sure if he wanted to continue or not but it woulda been a case of too much heart. In the end he was just getting hurt.

He did mention though that he needs a couple fights to get ready. He also admitted that GGG is the best in the division.
