I am not expecting his chin to crumble, but I know for a fact Stevens can punch and will always be dangerous with his timing and explosiveness.

There have been numerous occasions where Gennadiy leaves himself open for left hook counters, he did against Rosado a lot.

I'm favoring Gennadiy to stop Curtis, but this is a dangerous proposition for him.

Most of Stevens knockouts have come against fighters he can stay in the pocket and counter against, the problem against Gennadiy is he can't stay there and catch Gennadiy's punches off the guard. Thats the main problem for him in this fight.

I'm as sure as I can be that GGG takes this handily, but the potential of Stevens to land a game changer definitely adds a little frisson. Actually really looking forward to this one despite it being a step down. I always felt that Macklin just didn't have anything in his armoury to trouble Golo, at least on paper Stevens has his power, and is coming off a string of wins at MW.

I'll think we'll see how GGG fares once he feels his power. I've always felt that he gets hit more than he actually should because he doesn't respect their power. He's willing to take their shots in order to land his. I just don't see Curtis having the technical ability to be in position to land his hook at full potential against Gennady.

There is a big misconception that Gennady takes one to land one, he certainly makes people miss. his opposition only lands at about 20%, meaning 8 of 10 punches miss.

I wasn't necessarily saying take one to land one. I've watched enough of his fights to know that. We're in agreement about his abilities.

    Yeah.

He isn't afraid to get hit, but he doesn't relish it like a stereotypical Mexican brawler or anything.

He doesn't regard what he does as "fighting". If you watch the HBO mini-documentary on him from a while back he explains that he approaches it like a sport, a science to be mastered, and that he doesn't go in for all the macho "I'm gonna **** you up! Gr, yeah, let's rumble!" stuff.

Look Lester, these videos are not videos of fighters making these remarks. Second, you clowns have a weird way of peeping videos and what you get from them. You armchairs will never, ever understand the mindset and heart of fighters.

I obviously did that to get his punch stats:good

I also noticed that his opponants did much better against fighters like Martinez, Williams, Sturm, Pirog, J'leon Love, Mora etc.

I'll have to wait for some people to stop ducking to get more stats on better fighters.

There was that one interview of Quillin where he talks about money not being right, then leans into the came to whisper "veeeery risky". I don't think you'll ever get more honesty out of a fighter, until GGG is done with them. But forget their words, judge them by their actions. Guys dropping belts not to have to face him, passing on career high purse title shots on HBO. Maybe it's all about their promoters being scared like Hearn, I don't care. They should do something to earn their promoters trust. GGG will fight them all for peanuts, in their hometown.

No matter how you feel about Stevens you have to give him credit. He creaated some hype based on a great KO in is capitalizing on it. Similar to what the Ghost
    did when he demolished Berto.
