Benavidez did weigh 166.25lbs against Lemieux, and didn’t look trim, so he’d be able to lose 0.25lbs.

    Who wins this matchup?

Benavidez would f*ck him up REALLY bad up close, but despite his huge range and size advantage he has, so far, done nothing that makes me believe he can deal with GGG’s footwork and jab.

My prediction would be GGG walking through huge shots and outpointing / taming Benavidez on the backfoot with his jab.

Obviously David knocks him tf out if they fight today.

Same, I believe the key for Golovkin is that jab, he’s more variable with the lead hand and that’s allow him to get the better of the jabbing battle.

Benavidez has an offensive jab, but doesn’t stay behind it, and he kind of keeps his lead hand in the same position for the most part, sort of glued to his ears, whereas Golovkin moves in around, paws and it makes it harder to read. Since he can paw, it means he can get it closer without having to throw it from further back, unlike someone who keeps it glued to their ears.

Benavidez defense is a fair bit better and his hand speed a lot better. Don't think he'd struggle to land on GGG and would spend most of the fight lighting him up with combinations. Benavidez UD
