I see the 1950's brigade is out in force Yeah, ok guys, they "don't make em like they used to" like they were in "the good old days". It's kind of pointless going on because my references to actual footage are no match for the much-grimed and rose-tinted spectacles that see "ye olde champions" in a special light. Those were the days when a guy with a record of 62-30 was a killer because "they was all ol' school proper 'ard men back then". Man Machine, your last post excepted. Later fellas, and don't forget the prune juice or tomorrow morning is going to be tough
I answered the questions but some can't hear the answers. http://www.earinstitute.co.za/hearing-aids/ "When you struggle to hear, your ability to communicate effectively is compromised, and it can become difficult to enjoy participating in daily activities such as outings with friends, parties, business meetings or family gatherings. It can also become challenging to talk on the phone, or listen to the television at a normal level or understand basic logic even when it's demonstrated step by step to you. This is tragic."
This isnt old school vs new school. This is Tiger vs Golovkin. Not even talking about their resumes, Tiger simply looks better than Golovkin, against better opposition. Its amazing you have anything to say about Tiger covering up and taking shots from Fullmer, a proven top 30 middleweight ATG with an ugly and effective offensive arsenal, when Golovkins best defense consists of putting his hands near his face and looking down at the floor. And this is against middling talent that will be forgotten in a year. Hell, Jacobs is already forgotten after his last fight.

By best I mean his defense against his best opponents. Listen bud, Golovkin isnt a pretty boxer. Gene Fullmer could look like Lomachenko if he was in there with David Lemieux. He would not if he was fighting Henry Hank. I doubt Golovkin would, either
I really think this thread has come to its conclusion, for me at least. I've made my case, I think it was a good case ... some agree, most don't, and that's ok. We aren't covering any new ground now.
Henry Hank? Sure, he lost THRITY Times, and drew FOUR times. Forgiving his first ten pro fights, Henry Hank lost to journeyman and trial horses, hardly close to ability to say Jacobs, or Canelo in ability! Just a few samples: Harvey 9-2-2 beat Hank! Akins 24-13 beat Hank! Walker, only 2-1 beat Hank! Triplett 22-5-4 beat Hank! Wallace 27-13 -1 beat Hank! C. Cotton 39-11-1 beat Hank! Burford 16-4 beat Hank! Joseph 52 -10 -1 beat Hank! Mims 48-19-6 beat Hank Casey 24-2-5 beat Hank G Armstrong 18- 2- 1 beat Hank These guys are JOURNEYMAN. Some were older or inexperienced when Henry Hank fought them. How many of these losses were top ten fighters that Hank lost to? What?! I checked the annual ratings, Henry Hank only appeared at middle for two years at #5 in 1960, and 1961. That is it, he does not appear as a middle from 1953-1959. GGG would beat him easily and judging by the numerous losses and draws, some of which I did not even bother to mention, he's losing to many of GGG's opponents too. So Dick Tiger beat him vey easily and Dick Tiger himself lost a lot. As soon as Tiger beat Hank, he was out of the middle weigh rankings. When Hank moved up to light weight, he lost more than he won. This is laughable! Sorry guys, my guess is you haven't seen much on Hank on video, and can't examine a ring record. Once again, and elite level fighter should seldom lost to journeyman. No 48-19-6, 50 years ago is NOT a better fighter 49-1-2 ( Alvarez) ) or 34-2 ( Jacobs ) today.
Henry Hank beat Sixto Rodriguez Chic Calderwood George Benton Jesse Bowdry Holly Mims Joey Giardello Who has Jacobs beaten to match that? This content is protected ps I grew up watching Hank on the Saturday fights with guys like Tiger,Mina,Giardello. You're talking out of your arse and judging him from Box Rec!
My questions to you are, who on Golovkin's record is a top twenty all time middle weight? Who on Jacobs record is as good as Benton Mims Giardello ???? Going to dissapear again?lol
Wow you really are having a hard time understanding ANYthing, aren't you? Were those guys regarded as "top 20" all time middleweights at the time they were fighting? I'll bet dollars to donuts they were not. A fighter's standing only becomes apparent at the end of a long career, or years after he retires. For the record, Jacobs would absolutely eat little 5'7 Holley Mims alive. Here's Mims in action: This content is protected McVey will now point out all the SECRET and LOST techniques of "them ole days" for us kids. He will show just how special a fighter Mims was. Convince us. Take it away, McVey.
