How do you see Pirog handling GGG's power? [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FA3qw4WMl3g[/ame] [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_uXRsBXcdpo[/ame]
Yeah, I like Pirog, too, but I can see why he backed out of this one. Anyone with that many G's in his name is NOT to be ****ed with.
Eh, maybe... but Pirog gets hit quite often as well, and stand more in the pocket. He was tagged a lot against Ishida. That doesn't bode well against a guy with dynamite in his fists like Golovkin. Although Pirog can hit pretty hard himself.
I think it's a legitimately close fight and might slightly favor Golovkin. I just believe Pirog wasn't trying to avoid Golovkin in this instance.
I really like Pirog and think he could potentially beat Martinez but i don't think his style is good against Golovkin. Pirog is a bit of a paradox cuz he has a good defense but prefers to fight in the pocket. I'v never seen him fight off the back foot and standing in the pocket against Golovkin is murder.
No they aren't. How? By asking who would win hypothetical fights against Canelo and Pirog? GGG by T/KO somewhere within 10 rounds. I think it's Pirog who is massively overrated. He has one big win against and it was against a fellow prospect, not a world champion. Not only that, I think Jacobs had an off night and was too green at that time. Hopefully Jacobs can come back from his awful luck and continue progressing. If he can I think he smokes Pirog. And if they had fought ten times with the two versions that did fight, I think Jacobs would win 7 of ten.
