GOLOKIN wins buy not without a fight. Orneleas who is not that good a fighter comes to fight and at his right weight can make a fight of it. He went 12 with Hopkins and stopped Bronko Mckart in a very exciting fight this guy is no push over.

I think Omelar would be a good test for Golovkin to get ready for Pavlik who is about the same size at 6'2 and like Kelly is a slugger. If Gennady could stop Omelar's some thing Hopkins could not do it would help hype a Pavlik vs Golovkin fight.:bbb

I haven't seen much of Golovkin, but my intitial impression is that he is probably not ready to face a guy with as much experience as Ornales. Enrique fought Soliman, McKart X 2, Rubio, and Hopkins. Ornales has decent speed, decent skills, and he is fairly crafty. If Golovkin was my boy, I'd look for a fight with another prospect, and stay away from guys like Ornales for a few more fights.

I have not seen enough of this Golovkin guy I guess he has less than 20 fights. Orneleas is no easy night. Best to stay away from this dude for now

Good fight for Golovkin... He has enough amateur experience to make a step up at the pro ranks... He can handle this quality of opposition.... Ornelas as an opponent in his 19th fight says that this guy is ready to contend in this somewhat empty division.... GOOD MOVE GENNADY~!!

I thought Ornelas won the fight with Rubio.
Gennady should be ready by know for a top contender considering what a standout amatuer he was,but he hasnt fought anybody good as a pro. Ornelas could be a spoiler and hes a big middle will probably stay at SM or LH. Maybe Gelovkin should fight a Ishe Smith or Michael Walker first then maybe Espino. Then a contender before fighting Pavlik

I like the Michael Walker idea. It seems like his greatest strength is his tenacity, and that is very good for a young fighter to face.

Golovkin needs Ishe Smith about as bad as I need an extra ******* in the middle of my forehead. That guy makes his opponents look horrid.

If they want to get real brave, give old Grady Brewer a call. Even at 160 if your propsect isn't the real deal, Grady is going to hand him his ass. Good test.

I just think Ornales may be a to much to soon.

I think he's ready for Ornelas... He needs a tough fight like that... Michael Walker is another good opponent... Dmitry Pirog just won a decision against Kofi Jantuah, so I believe this fight is one this kid is ready for... Now it's time to question his toughness...

He's ready for an Ishe Smith, but he's a tricky one...

Daniel Eduoard would be a good step up for him too....

Interesting side story- Ornelas is Librado's younger brother, was recently stopped by Bute, who in turn was stopped by Golovkin in the amateurs.

That aside, I think Golovkin is more than ready for a fight of this caliber. He's as old as Pavlik, so I'd say he's mentally and physically ready to handle a tough test like this. On the other hand Enrique doesn't handle tough tests well, he seems to give up alot of times, Librado even talks about it. With Golovkin's superior boxing ability, and impressive power, I think he wins this fight.

Gennady's biggest hold back is Universum. They're very protective of him. He was recently made the mandatory for Sturm's WBA title-(Sturm just defected from Universum). I'm guessing they want that title back and won't jeopardize Golovkin's title shot.

I doubt Ornelas can make 160 anymore.
