I'm not saying Vanes is the best fighter ever, but good enough to upset Lara. That I am sure. Lara is a decent fighter, but not as good as portrayed here in ESB. Anyway, I don't want to talk about Vanes now. Golovkin is the man today.
Golovkin KO. Lara is too small and likely doesn't have the power to seriously deter GGG, who can also cut the ring off well. GGG looks very methodical, smooth, and relaxed in there, and looks to have solid timing to accompany his awesome power and solid boxing skills. He perhaps might get hit a little too much, but it didn't look like Proksa was hitting him really cleanly or flush very often, and it looks like GGG's chin is sound anyway. I only see him struggling with somebody much bigger with much longer arms who can keep him at a distance, and boasts huge power. Somebody like Dawson I could see being a very tough matchup for him. But he'll have his way with just about anybody of a similar or smaller size to him, and Lara fits that description.
Lara is very good, but inconsistent. Against bums or has beens he looks great and couldn't ko a damaged Williams. He lost to Molina. The first sign of trouble Lara bows down. I think Lara is the best at 154 besides Cotto, but he's not that much better. Golovkin would squash anyone and is a genuine threat to Ward and Maravilla.
Lara was getting bullied in the ring by Molina, a guy with no power and basically no amateur background. Golovkin would kill Lara
Wow , what a fight !!! Lara ia nearer to 147 than 160 so cant see it happening, however ................. Both men have impressed me this year, and i imagine both will continue to do so, i have Lara the best fighter @154, and i have Golovkin in the top 3 @160, its a great stylistic clash, Lara has all the skill, Golovkin has the size and power Im not sure how Golovkin would go about hitting Lara enough to impose his will to be frank, i think Lara is a good enough tactician to shut him out Lara UD
I wasnt aware that people were in the habit of KO'ing Paul Williams Lara done what no man before him (including Martinez) could do, he stood in the middle of the ring and beat Williams to almost every punch It was an impressive display of pure boxing, Lara is a true boxer, with genuine elite skill
GG too big, too strong, too good. But keep an eye out for an Aussie called Danny Geale. Who is quietly and methodically working his way through the 160 division.
Ultimately, a southpaw with speed and chin will beat Golovkin. The questions remains if Lara has chin. And he's not really that speedy either. If he has to resort to headbutts to beat Hernandez, I can't see him going the distance with GG.
