Golovkin has every right to cherry pick opponents at the age of 39, after being shamelessly robbed twice against Saul Alvarez.
Respectfully, GGG hasn't earned the right to fight whomever he wants for what he's being paid. As much as I hate to say that, it's true. He's not Manny or Floyd or Oscar, etc.
DAZN gave him the contract with the proviso there would be a 3rd fight with Canelo. That's why they're feeding him these C-levels fighters; so he maintains his KO ratio and looks awesome to keep the casuals ready to part with their money should the Canelo rubber match come off. If he looks slow, aged and lacking power then DAZN are just going to be losing money the longer they maintain the contract. Canelo wants to move on though; so he might do what Khan did to Eddie Hearn - string him along with the Kell Brook fight and then go fight some random person like Billy Dib, expect Canelo has options and promotors queueing up to sign him up.
The man is trying to make a living. STFU about it. Dude is close to getting Social Security checks; let him make as much $$ as he can while he can.
Do you think for $ might be bought every thing? Nope, you are funny. Okey, if about prize fighters, maybe yeah. Other ppl outside from prize fighting does not care even about these Manny, Floyd, Oscard, Canelo, Wilder etc entertainers. They does not know about them. No necessity for them to think about their existence. Boxing fans are only small % from sport fans and all combat sports too are just only niche in all this game. More than this, majority of ppl in the world aren't sport fans at all. Ppl love to think how their field or art is big, how notable they are and " earn the right ". Naw.
I would prefer some tested (beaten from someone else) popular name, than unbeaten olympic silver medalist who wins all his last fights with KO in early rounds. His last opponent Akavov, Andrade needed 12rds to KO him, Saunders won with 115-113 and 116-112.But Falcao make him refuse to continue in 4 rounds... I hope team GGG know what are they doing and won't take too big risks for nothing.
Falcao seems to be a serious fighter. He is an Olympic silver medalist, and when finally tested against a two time former title challenger he casually broke down and stopped a fighter that Saunders couldn't stop and went to the last minute Andrade. I have to check out those fights, but on boxrec scoring the fans had the Arkovov fight a draw. My point is Arkovov is no pushover and Falcao walked through with no problems. Falcao has poise and precision and very heavy hands. He has a aura of confidence about him like Lara and GGG. He reminds me a little bit of a southpaw Golovkin with his timing and heavy hands.Falcao is trained by Grampa Garcia, and is looking for a big breakthrough fight. It will be interesting to see how he responds to this severe jump in class. Obviously i would like to see GGG fight Andrade or Charlo, But this fight i think will be a war for as long as it lasts.
I based what i said of of the Arkovov fight. I need to see more of Falcao's fights, he seems dangerous though.
GGG has nothing to prove, he's never been stopped ,been down, never failed drug tests& never legally been beaten...ever!
