Thanks for the update - fingers crossed it goes ahead with Spike. Phew this is getting stressful!

Good post IB. Regardless of his opposition, he’s hand speed is obviously worse. Thing is, that’s what’s stopped him digging in them body shots against Canelo imo, he’s a clever fighter, he knows the counter hook would be coming back easier and faster to land from Canelo, it would’ve been a gamble every time for him. I thought with where he’s at at this stage of his career or with what he’s got left that GGG fought a near perfect fight. He just looks a generally tired version of himself to me, even hesitant at times to throw

According to the poll, if Spike KO's GGG it will be the upset of the last few decades.

Wtf??? I'll have to ask him why the change of heart now after coming this far. Maybe there was less money being offered with the downgrade from PPV to regular HBO, the venue site change, and the overall diminished value. :nusenuse:

Theories on Twitter range from Spike getting an extreme lowball offer (ie not even a career high payday for him, which makes stepping in with GGG not really worth it) to GBP pressuring or bribing him to stand down, to Frank W.'s big announcement tomorrow not being the return date of Tyson Fury as expected but rather BJS vs. Spike II for June.

For someone that has wanted and called for this fight so long it makes little sense for him to abandon it now. There had to have been something big catalyzing the reversal.

I think Spike is on better terms with GBP. Also Canelo bigger payday/theoretically easier. Canelo-Spike seems more likely than GGG-Spike.

everybody thought spike was just gonna take it I knew it was because of the money spike priced himself . He's been getting very annoying on twitter blabbing about it. I knew he wouldn't take it cuz of money.

I think spike is being saved for Canello's return fight in Sept.

If GGG fought Derevyancheko and whipped him, and Canelo struggled with Spike, this could be really bad for El Pollo Clenito

    No spike
    No vanes
    No mumguia
    No Andrade

    All that leaves is Dchenko
There’s still no venue and no tickets sold

    Time to scrap the date
GGG should sue the hell outta Canelo
