Ouma slapping the **** out of him on the inside. Best work from GGG is his bodywork, those are the only punches he seems to land with any powers.

All his upstairs work is sloppy.

    Round 6

Golovkin paws with his jab and slaps with his right, looking exhausted. Golovkin just seems like he desperately wants to touch Ouma with something, anything. There are some hard hooks to the body. There's something. Ouma doesn't flinch, and stays leaned in to trade with Golovkin. Ouma is backed to the ropes by the sheer brute force of Golovkin steering him with his head. Ouma couldn't care less, and just flips out short punches while slipping and blocking almost all of Golovkin's. Ouma's head is turned by a right hand but he answers right back with a long combo to the down-turned face of Golovkin. The Kazakh is really betraying his energy level by pushing out arm punches, following Ouma to the ropes and just shaking his arms at him.

    59-55

Don't know how long Gennady can keep taking them clean punches.

Ouma looked a little tired that round too though.

    Great fight so far.

Ouma's slippery as hell, the way he turns makes him hard to hit *at times*. Other times Golovkin lands three straight no problem. I thought Golovkin pressed Ouma effectively that round and landed more, so he's up 58-56 to me. I need to stress how close a few of the rounds he won were though

Another good round. It's man against man in there. I just feel Ouma tends to outland GGG. I can't argue some of my rounds going the other way on other cards.

    58-56 Ouma

Golovkin looks slow and sloppy. This isn't the guy who beat Dirrell or Bute. Did he even train for this fight?

I think Ouma's style isn't good for Golovkin. What I have seen from Golovkin is he likes to think in the ring and takes him time dismantling his opponent. Ouma doesn't give you that chance because he is a high volume boxer and he forces you to fight at his pace. So far Golovkin isn't doing a good job keeping up.

    Round 7

Ouma leans in and lands a lead left, then takes a left hook to the face. Both are completely oblivious to the shots they're taking (Ouma because of his chin, and Golovkin because of Ouma's lack of power). They lean in and trade, Ouma flurrying with much more volume and Golovkin trying to really find the mark with some big telling blows but also wasting some time and energy on some roaming, slapping hooks. Golovkin getting wild. Ouma is just snapping his forearms out, being blatantly dirty to push Golovkin back. The dumb ref says nothing. Golovkin starts to windmill, driving Ouma to the ropes but hitting 100% arm. Ouma isn't trying to punch back, just keeping himself guarded well and making Golovkin fail to land cleanly. Some slick moves by Ouma as they begin coming apart.

68-65 Ouma; he got a bit too preoccupied with defense there.

Good sportsmanship in this bout, good ****. Man another tough round, I gave it to GGG. I keep second guessing my judging in this one...

    67-66 Ouma

Ouma isn't the type of fighter Golovkin (or most) are going to look good against.

67-66 Golovkin after Ouma takes that round

Golovkin is just walking in, hitting air and taking counters.

Ouma outboxed his man in the that round. Again GGG had his moments but overall Ouma's round.

    77-75 Ouma

    Round 8

Golovkin is throwing hard but amateurish punches, snapping his jab and lunging with his right as he turns it over. Ouma is still trickling leather into his face as he backs up and draws Golovkin in chaotic staccato patterns all around the ring. Golovkin just tries his best to keep pace and stay leaned into Ouma, pumping his arms in short bursts and taking breaks twice as long as his flurries. Ouma is doing the same thing, except his flurries last longer than his breaks. Nice sequence by Ouma, landing the right jab, ducking a shot, and landing another right jab as he strafes off to the left under Golovkin's outstretched arm. Lots of clean love-taps by Ouma up close. NICE uppercut by Golovkin just before the bell.

That was an eye-catching punch, but Golovkin doesn't quite steal the round for me.

    78-74 KO
