??? Golovkin didn't exactly look cut, but his conditioning is clearly top notch

There's always a lot of arguements on this one, and no one likes on obvious premature stoppage for bull**** home cooking reasons, but the way I look at it is like this:

Could Ouma have made it to the final bell? Possibly. Was he ahead in enough on points to 100% guarantee he'd be a winner if he made it there? No. Was there a realistic chance of him pulling a hail mary Ko before the final bell? Nah, he was super gassed, could hardly lift his hands and theres nowt wrong with GGGs chin.

I can't see a valid reason to continue it really. Boxing is starting to get a bit of traction in the media of late, and the last thing we need are bad things to occur in the ring, especially if its already become obvious who the better man in the ring was.

Golovkin at that time was a supurb counter puncher and master at controlling distance with a good defense and reflexes who could box with and outbox guys like Bute and Dirrell.

Tonight Golovkin looked like some random guy pulled out of the crowd to fight in a tough man contest. He just walked forward, leaning in and eating endless uppercuts. That was beyond garbage. I have no idea if he just didn't train for this fight, for some reason just wanted to trade on the inside and slug, or has just completely lost his skills under a trainer from the Western hemisphere.

That said Ouma took a real brutal beating the last 3 or 4 rounds.

OK, so not only is Moreno-Parra headlining over Golovkin-Ouma...

    That wasn't even 2nd-billed!!!!! :patsch

The actual co-main event is Alberto Mosquera vs. Johan Perez. :nut

    I agree.

Mosquera-Perez damn well better be a good fight too, if it's billed over Golovkin-Ouma. :yep

On the bright side, maybe N'Jikam and Sturm will be more willing to get in the ring with him. Given his activity over the last year and half, maybe he had some mental rust.

They are both unbeaten and with high KO ratios. :think

I guess I can stop being so cynically cranky and give this a chance.

    Round 1

Mosquera comes in calmly jabbing, before degenerating into wild hammering combos. Perez backs away and jabs out. Perez is trying to box tall but is leaving his chin hanging out unprotected. Dangerous. Mosquera comes creeping in, crouching and catching the jab of Perez on his forearm. Mosquera jabs to the body. Perez sidesteps a jab and lands a hook to the face. Now Mosquera falls in with a combo that mostly slides against the back of a ducking Perez. Very sloppy action, both trying to land and getting knotted up in their opponent's arms.
