Round 2

Mosquera pops his jab, doubled. Mosquera takes a quick lateral step outside. Now a huge left hook by Mosquera! Perez is jabbing out hard as he backs up, converting into a 1-2-3 as he goes. Mosquera is holding himself low, and trying to throw in between the combos of Perez. There is a cut over Perez's right eye. It's small but spilling pretty liberally. He is also puffed up on that cheek. The physician has a look. It's fine. Mosquera throws a jab, lands it and steps on Perez's foot and then knocks him down with a chopping right to the jaw!!! The referee saw the feet and doesn't rule the flash KD. Now they stand and trade as Mosquera pesters Perez against the ropes. Mosquera has the faster hands and is landing some nice shots but Perez is timing a few of his slower left hooks and straight rights and catching Mosquera pretty well. Clinch. Jab from Perez as he steps outside. Big left hook by Mosquera. They clinch and Perez works his free hand to the body.

 

Round 3

Mosquera is now crouching and circling wide, landing right jabs and lunging lefts as Perez is made to miss his own straight shots while turning like a weathervane. Mosquera showing off his speed now.

Round 4

They are trading uppercuts, and Mosquera is not liking it. Mosquera ties up. Now a pot shot on the clean break by Mosquera. Perez raises up and slaps down with both arms before switching back to uppercuts. Mosquera has had enough of that and backs away, hooking hard to the body and then head. Mosquera is caught with his hands low. Mosquera just keeps hooking quickly as he backs away. HARD UPPERCUT by Perez, makes Mosquera stare up at the ceiling for a second. Mosquera tries desperately to tie up. He stalls, holding Perez against the ropes.

Round 5

Perez lands a straight right as Mosquera against keeps his hands low. Mosquera tries to jab high out of his crouch. Perez just walks through the jab and plants a HUGE left hook on Mosquera's chin. Perez is landing the 1-2 well. Hook to the body, and another guard-splitting 1-2. Mosquera needs to make an adjustment here, because his occasional attacks from the outside and low-handed defense are not serving him here and might prove disastrous. Perez runs in while loading up a right hand, delivered from the hip and just grazing as Mosquera backpedals. Perez just barely misses a 1-2 as Mosquera stumbles off-balance and luckily out of the way (not an intentionally slick move).
