I refuse to accept people with titles as "prospects" personally (that includes Rigo and Ioka) they might not be the complete article but they aren't some emerging fighter who is fighting their way up. People have wanted to see him in the ring with the best for the past few years...and instead they get him in with guys coming off lossing "current records (Simon was 2-3, Ouma was 2-5). It sort of feels like his record is built on beating guys who are past or never were (for example Nunez is about to fight a 5-0 (4) prospect, and had himself starched Tapia). It's not like the division is devoid of talented fighters...heck I'm sure if you offered Macklin, Rubio, Murray, Barker or Proksa a chance at him they'd snap your hand off...
Agreed he stopped tough Ouma pretty impressively. He gave up some rounds in the beginning though. Golovkin is definitely a huge talent. Not overrated at all.
Sturm is next for Golovkin. Period. He will be stripped if he avoids GGG. GGG makes Felix sleep bad at night for sure.
Sturm will lose that title next year no matter if His next opponent is Gennady. Sturm is looking very ordinary recently like His best days are over.
The deadline for GGG-Sturm was this December!! ****in Felix avoided him and now that **** is over! K2s Boente said Felix has to fight GGG or he will be stripped. Its too funny if he really avoids him...
Got to agree here. Would beating Sturm really be an achievement any more? Even the judges are turning against him...
Maybe. Pprobably not. N'Jikam still has his interim despite being ordered to fight Golovkin several times.
I don't think you get it. The whole point of that display was to out-tough one of the toughest guys in the division, go toe to toe and get the KO. That's not his normal boxing style. Golovkin is anything but limited. He's a boxer's boxer.
Out toughing a smaller man who had seen better days and wasn't even near his prime or his best weight?..well...I guess he showed the world he could do that... The point still stands, he needs to face someone there to win who isn't small at the weight, who isn't on a losing streak and who isn't faded.
Forgot this was on today. atsch 1st round KO of Simon is impressive. Golovkin at his best can be a monster. 160 has a lot of talent now and it's about time he got a shot against one of the champs.
