This is just one month from today. Excellent co-feature: Donaire vs. Walters. HBO is showing MUCH better fight cards than the garbage we've been seeing on Showtime. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4oF3Icfa_eU
It will be Golovkins toughest fight to date. I think he survives an early/mid round scare to dig deep for the victory. TKO around 8.
Good fight.. Rubio's a proven tough guy and isn't short of a little pop himself. I remain a little puzzled by the final poll option though. A little MDMA each and both smile a lot and dance themselves in exhausted collapse maybe? I guess that'd count as a draw? I think most are expecting a GGG stoppage which says a bit in itself, but if he can stop Rubio either early or impressively it would still make a significant statement.
If Rubio comes to fight, he gets stopped in 6, if he comes to survive he gets stopped in 12. Can't wait for this fight.
Maybe you can call me biased, but GGG vs Rubio and Donaire vs Walters, followed less than a month later by Kovalev vs Hopkins and Rosado vs Kirkland put this years PPVs by both major networks to shame. The chaos in the MW division right now actually leaves it hard to pin down a more legitimate opponent than MAR at the moment, and certainly no-one can regard him as a walkthrough kinda guy.
I'm counting on Rubio to come in with his Mexican heart on his sleeve but considering Rubio’s been hurt at all in the past, I think that doesn’t bode well for him in there with Golovkin. Still, I have a feeling that MAR may give pretty good. It would be exciting to see Golovkin get buzzed and come back to get the knockout. A hint of vulnerability might induce some of his avoiders to make fights.
:deal As far as the question goes, GGG by decision, but I wouldn't be surprise if GGG goes down for the first time in his career.
