Gennady Golovkin vs. Martin Murray & Hekkie Budler vs. Jesus Silvestre RBR

That was a world championship fight on HBO. Eventhough Muray was taking a beating, there was still a chance he could pull a haymaker. He was not out on his feet and fighting, landing good punches here and there.

 

GGG looked good out there against the liveliest challenge he has ever had, as i predicted. Now GGG did good things out there, his defence was/is non existent and he gets hit way too much. And against a guy with great boxing skills and power and a chin to go with it, GGG is going to have a hard time keeping his 0 in tact.

I honestly think though that Canelo has a real shot to beat Ggg. He aint ready for the 168 lbers and i see why.. Ward would beat him imo.

Some guys are too tough for their own good, it should have been stopped round 7-8 IMO.

 

Froch wouldn't be standing there with a high guard all night he is begging to be knocked out :yep

 

hes a tough dude if he had more pop would have been a better fight. I see GGG having problems if he goes to 168 they aren't just going to be much tougher they are going to hit a lot harder.

 

Big drama show!

 

This fight showed two things.
Firstly Martin Murray is a brave, durable and competent fighter who belongs in the top tier of middleweight boxers right now.

Secondly, Golovkin is a sensational fighter who belongs amongst the top tier of p4p fighters right now. Anybody who still suggests that Golo is a hype job based purely on the level of opposition he has fought has no credibility whatsoever.

 

Well the fact they were calling for a stoppage every bloody round from round 1 kinda gives it away he he.

 

when a fighter is getting beaten up like this for many rounds, it should be stopped. No need to continue unless the other guy shows he can still deliver damage whilst avoiding getting hit so often.

I wanna see Cotto vs Golovkin!

 

Fortunately the referee's job is to protect the fighter, not to create a spectacle for the HBO corporation.

 

Moving on to Froch now are we.....tut tut

It was a good stoppage, could have been stopped anytime after 9th round.
Cotto will vacate his belt this year.
