I don't imagine the previous posters remember Michael Watson. Guys you may have seen some film of him but I think there maybe a case of subconscious age bias going on here. Watson was a genuine World class performer. I can still remember when Dangerous Don Lee, conqueror of Tony Sibson, came over to fight him. I was Boxing then and all of us in the gym were taking turns to pick the round Watson was going out in. Michael dismantled Lee in 5 rounds. His stoppage of Nigel Benn was a masterclass. Nigel's subsequent career shows he was no hype job. The McCallum fight came a bit too soon for Watson but he learned loads from it. Really good fighters learn from defeats. Make no mistake, Watson was way better than Daniel Geale or David Lemieux.
