GGG jabs him stupid then drops something whether it’s head or body and he ruins him. Someone as dangerous as Benn would have GGG utilising his skills at the start but when he wants it’s over after 6. He’s taking Benns best with his granite chin and he’s the more complete fighter anyway. Benn could hurt him but not take him out
GGG by decision or late stoppage However, if anyone has a small chance of breaking through GGG's granite chin, its Benn.
I remember Lemieux hit Golovkin with a big shot and Golovkin's legs for just a moment did a tiny jig (but he shook it off fast), so its very possible Benn could hurt him. But in the end, I'd expect Golovkin to stop Benn late
I don’t think this is cut and dried by any stretch of the imagination. GGG has never fought anyone with the power and intensity of Benn, who wouldn’t be intimidated either. Golovkin is not the hardest to hit the chances are he will eat up some huge shots and his chin will be tested to the limit. His steadier consistent output though and the jab should just about be enough to see him through to a hard earned UD or a possible late stoppage. I say this without any great conviction though.
Benn was decent WBO champion, but nothing beyond that. I think he could last more than 4 rounds, but would be in serious trouble by round 8.
Benn is made for Golovkin. Golovkin would slaughter him, by way of knockout, more quickly than Mike Watson managed it.
I agree with the consensus for GGG to win, but imagine it would be more difficult than has been stated. I think the first 4-6 rounds would be very explosive and fun, before Golovkin begins breaking him down. GGG TKO 8-10 or so.
At 160 benns to vulnerable, his punch resistance was better and his gas tank at 168 imo. He would never in a million years see the end bell with GGG, there’s more chance him knocking G out than seeing the final bell, which imo is hard to see. Just way to wreck less and gung ho his style, he settled down more as he got older but then your talkin 168
