Golovkin is jabbing and stopping about sixteen inches from Adama, letting him pipe the air with his own jab and reach down and miss with a short overhand right. Golovkin is controlling range and skipping in a couple of steps to taunt Adama with the jab before moving beyond his grasp again. Nice counter hooks by Golovkin, circumventing Adama's jab with an extra diagonal step off the lateral. Hard jab by Golovkin. Adama crouches and pops up with a jab while backing up. Golovkin reaches in and tags him with a right hand on the face. Adama is using lots of movement, nervous energy evident as his upper body swerves jerkily to either side hoping to slip Golovkin's power jab.

Golovkin is tearing into Adama now with powerful left hooks off the jab, forcing Adama to surrender ground and then nailing him as he turns corners. Reach-in jab by Golovkin, stepping forward and hooking off it without retracting. Counter right snaked in by Adama from outside, leaning away instead of capitalizing. Golovkin nods his approval of the shot and keeps stalking. Golovkin is snapping Adama's head back with the up-jab. Tight defense by Golovkin coming forward. Quick hard right hand by Golovkin, Adama rolling back with it and putting a jab out to the body. Left hook by Golovkin. Time out called by the ref while someone outside the ring wipes a wet spot on the canvas. Double right hand up top by Golovkin, piercing into Adama's guard and pinning him on the ropes. Left hook to the body by Golovkin. Jabs by Adama circling away.
