Yes, a few times early in his career, most notably at the hands of Jose Cotto, also by Lanardo Tyner and some others to lesser degrees. All those were instances of being green/having unrefined defense when he was very young, though, just rattled by shots he didn't see coming. His overall chin has been conclusively and steadily ever more proven rock-solid over the years. One could argue however that he is yet to, before GGG, face a huge puncher that wasn't too massively disadvantaged to stylistically to land anything of note on him to give us a real litmus test.

IMO the right hands from Golovkin were enough to convince me. Canelo is tough.

Nobody clearly won the match. Too many close rounds. I don't agree with your characterization of those who scored it for Canelo, but you're entitled to your opinion. I'm trying to have a reasonable discussion about the match on a round by round basis. I didn't have a problem with Horn winning either, I thought that fight could have gone either way. I expected Pacquiao to win, but was fine with Horn winning. Atlas's hissy fit was embarrassing. I'm just stating facts regarding the commentary teams. I had no problem with RJJ, Lampley and Max. I thought they called it right down the middle. Lederman I thought gave Golovkin too many rounds but that wasn't really all that shocking considering he usually scores rounds for come forward / high volume fighters. The Box Nation commentary on the other hand, was a little shocking, at least in rounds 6-9 which are the only rounds I heard of their commentary, I thought Box Nation's Rounds 7-9 were way too Pro-Golovkin, but they did give the 6th to Canelo like IB did.

When did GGG "rock" Canelo? G did tag Canelo a few times, I thought that jab with 2:15 left in the 8th was one of his hardest punches. But I don't recall too many hard / rocking right hands from G that I remember. Maybe that one with a minute to go in the 5th, that was a big right hand but I wouldn't describe it as Canelo getting rocked. More like tagged. Canelo on the other hand certainly did rock G several times.

To be honest, I've never heard such biased commentary as the British have on Boxnation or Sky. If you are British they give you six or seven rounds you didn't win. It's Adelaide Byrd/CJ Ross territory every time. They make the asslickers on HBO seem tame and objective.

I agree that it was a close fight, but close as in 114-114 leaning towards GGG, anyone who scored it for Canelo is agenda driven IMO. I've said several times, I have no issue with the draw, that's fine, but anything other than that I find to be a real stretch. I wouldn't scream robbery if someone scored it a point for Canelo, by a point, but I don't agree with that score at all, similar to the way I view people who scored Horn-Pac for Pac, its reaching really hard.

Yeah but neither Golovkin nor Canelo are Brits, and I've heard commentators on that network gush equally over both of them (in true cuckoldry fashion, no less, when both were beating up Brit opponents)

He wasn't loopy, but Canelo has a good poker face, he hid it well, his face seems to tense up and he gets hyper focused and goes into uber defensive mode, I forget which round it was, I watch so many fights, I can't exactly tell you which rounds, its been 4 months since I've seen it, but he was obviously effected by a couple of shots, I recall him basically running after GGG tagged him in one of the mid to late rounds.

Tough as ****...I think Oscar's messed his rep up over the years with his bull****. Fine fighter Canelo, and Mexican style has never really been his way of fighting. GGG's my boy, but hes tapped in to what Mexicans want or expect of a fighter and its made him look a ***** to the ****** fans

Can you name those who claimed Canelo was robbed since there aren't that many. I haven't seen any.

I had it about 8-4 / 7-5 to Canelo. I gave Canelo Rounds 1,2,3,4,10,11&12. (4 and 5 I consider toss-ups) 6-9 Golovkin did well but I'm still not too sure on those. With IB giving the 6th to Canelo and taking another look at that, I'm considering changing my score on that round. The 8th as well was pretty darn close. The 8th is a good candidate for an even round, both men did separate things well I thought in that round. I mean there wasn't a single round that Golovkin dominated. Golovkin's supposed best rounds, like 6-9 Canelo still ended up landing the better punches. Canelo landed a massive uppercut in rounds 6, 7 and 8, and landed a huge right hand with about 1:30 left in the 9th. Golovkin was busier in these rounds, but Canelo was going to tit for tat with him for most of the round and landed by far the better harder punches. I have a real hard time giving Golovkin more than 3 or 4 rounds. Some of these rounds probably could be scored even since they were so close and hard to score, so I don't think giving Canelo 10 rounds is fair either. We need to be fair to Golovkin giving in 10 points in rounds where he was busier and landing more consistently, but you can't ignore Canelo's big punches and his overall effectiveness round after round.

He was on the Backfoot for at least 8 of the 12 rounds..He was stung a couple of times and that's why he became cautious....Blind Freddie could see it...

To be fair not here that I can remember specifically, but a whole bunch in the YouTube comments sections (although those are notorious loony bins)

Do you agree that Canelo rocked Golovkin several more times throughout the fight than Golovkin rocked Canelo thoughout the fight? I mean Canelo's biggest hardest punches rocked Golovkin way more than Golovkin's biggest hardest punches rocked Canelo right?

I mean was the right hand in the 5th round by Golovkin his hardest punch / right hand of the fight? The uppercuts by Canelo in rounds 6, 7 and 8 were way harder, each of those truly rocked Golovkin, stopped him in his tracks. The looping right hand by Canelo in the middle of the 9th was big too. Then you had all those bombs by Canelo in rounds 10-12. I can't remember anything G landed that compared to all those rocking bombs by Canelo.

Which rounds do you disagree about? What rounds did you have Canelo winning?
