Remember, like, when Canelo used to totally suck and be one of the most overrated fighters ever on this forum 6 months ago? And when, you know, Golovkin could beat most of the Cruiserweight top 15? Fun times.

Very good fight though. Honestly a draw isn't a wild score in the slightest, straight up, there's enough close rounds. Ginger Boy did well. But ultimately Golovkin won in most all eyes. Hoo-raw for an immediate rematch! If either gets a decisive W or, lord bless us a KO, they would take the edge in the rivalry. Have a near impossible time seeing a 3rd fight, no matter the scenario.

Golovkin was busier in ALL of those rounds by a pretty big margin. Round 5 he threw 31 more, Round 6 he threw 17 more, Round 7 he threw 20 more, and Round 8 he threw 25 more.

All in all, I thought Canelo clearly won rounds 1, 2, and 12 with rounds 3 and 11 possibly being given to him as well. The only possible way I can see this as a draw is if you also gave him round 10. So, in my opinion, you are giving Canelo every benefit of the doubt. I don't see how he could have won round 7 like Trela gave him. I don't agree with giving him round 6 either.

At the end of the day, you can give any fight every round as long as he doesn't get smoked. That's the problem with scoring. One fighter can dominated 5 rounds while the other 7 rounds are virtually even. Judges could like the other fighters style more and give him 7 rounds and he wins the fight. When in reality, he clearly lost.

You're right , Golovkin was busier in all of rounds 5-8, by some I meant there was parts of those rounds that both men were busy, and large portions of the rounds that Canelo was "busier at actually getting in punches". In the first half of the 5th round for example, Canelo was getting the better of the exchanges, however in the 2nd half of the 5th Canelo went to the ropes and Golovkin really upped his workrate.

All 3 judges gave Canelo the 10th, so a draw is certainly reasonable by giving Canelo rounds 1-3 & 10-12. And then you have round 6 that some have given to Canelo, and in my estimation rounds 4, 5, and 8 are also arguable for Canelo for different reasons, though I do think Golovkin deserved to win round 5 despite being outboxed in the early stages. I'll give you some reasons as to why Trella may have scored the 7th for Canelo but I generally agree with you about round 7. It was really one of Golovkin's best rounds, just based on how much he was landing. Canelo allowed himself to get hit with too many jabs in the 7th and that more than anything else is why I thought Canelo lost that round.

What if we get another draw or 115-113 range decision for either?

Round 5 was the best of the first five for Golovkin, that we agree on. And the reason for that is beacuse he landed that big right hand with a minute left and upped his workrate in the final minute. It wasn't until that big right hand in the 5th by Golovkin that Golovkin started to gain confidence and really started to get himself into the fight.

You can call me whatever you want but I'm not a fanboy of Alvarez, I just pay attention to the offense he landed in every round, unlike the other side that only pays attention to Golovkin's output. I appreciate skilled counter punchers like Canelo, that's why I had the fight close like any reasonable fan would. Only a Golovkin fanboy / groupy would have it for Golovkin wide or not admit it was close.

Fight was close but Golovkin did enough to edge it, a draw is not a terrible result and not even a robbery but it's the kind of result that leaves a sour taste in your mouth.

It's that feeling of coming up short when you expect somebody to win (Golovkin) and the other guy puts on a boxing clinic (Canelo) and your bold predictions don't come true. Then the tears start flowing and you start crying and making excuses about how the guy you thought was gonna win should have won.

Fury won the fight hands down 8-4. There was no argument that the fight could have been scored a draw PERIOD. Canelo Vs GGG has a good case and was highly more competitive than that bore fest Fury put up. Wards win over Abraham was as clear as day.

i'm with you on Canelo's cardio. I think he looks top heavy. His legs don't look thick enough.
