vs GGG - Adalaide Byrd 118-110
vs Lara - Levi Martinez 117-111
    vs Floyd - C.J. Ross 114-114
vs Trout - Stanley Christodoulou 118-109

Some judges are falling asleep on their fights over the last years.

Tbh I've said this before and I'll say it again I'm not passionate enough about scoring to be bothered any more.

I watch a fight to enjoy it, not to pick my own winner.

History is what history was and no amount of scoring will change that Canelo and GGG fought to a draw. I used to be passionate about such things but that fire is long burnt out.

Both guys fought a great fight, I think G deserved it but ultimately they'll get another chance to see what happens.

As usual with this egotist there were no great revelations. Just a dreary catalogue of inappropriate musings on a corrupted fight. Only time will tell if it was a misjudgment of biblical proportions to allow Byrd to judge this fight, or any other now on...or rather a nod & a wink from Golden Boy ...brown paper package springs to mind!

I know, that was a mistype, if you look at like my next post I refer to it as her 10-2 score.

8-4 would have been generous to Golovkin but not "take her license away!" territory. (which 10-2 is, that's in the same ballpark as her erstwhile sister in arms turning in 114 apiece in Canelo vs. Mayweather)

I don't know who you're describing here, but you're definitely not describing me lol. You're quick to scream corruption. I'd suggest instead you study the film and try to understand why she gave Canelo 10 rounds. I don't agree with all the rounds she gave to Canelo, but I don't see how you can be so sure it was corruption. Jumping to such a conclusion seems to be a little irrational to me. It's far better to go through the rounds and see what Canelo managed to land specifically in rounds that you disagree with her score.

I cant remember what i scored it exactly. I think i gave Canelo 1,2,11,12 and the 6th was a 10-10 (im not scared to use them). so 113-116 i guess. Close but not close enough for me to really accept a draw, the Byrd card was just disgusting.

I loved the fight i thought that 1 lived up to the hype. I thought While Canelo was fresh his fantastic counters kept Golovkin honest and sensible winning rounds 1 and 2.

Although competitive GGG was just starting to take the lead role, i think Canelo was beginning to feel the weight of Golovkins punching power. Golovkin is now winning the rounds 3,4 and 5.

6 was a good round, was that big over hand from Canelo in this round? Im sure this is the 1 i scored even. It was like Canelo knew Golovkin had taken control and felt he had to try turn the tide, he did enough to take a share of that but couldnt split them.

But he knew he couldnt keep that up and he knew to survive he had to take less punishment and he had thrown as big a shot as he was likely to land on Golovkin and he hadnt even blinked. He had to go backwards, i wouldnt call it survival mode but he had to be more choosey of when to land his counters on Golovkin. People can moan about him not being Mexican style but if he had gone toe to toe it would of been suicide and Canelo is a world class fighter not an idiot. Golovkin doesnt have any of that to worry about and keeps up the pressure on him. Winning rounds 7,8,9

10 was a lot closer, Canelo knew he was on the home straight, energy levels looking ok it was time to get a bit more active in there, more work from him but not enough to win round 10.

Canelo takes the last 2 he is back to how he was in the 1st 2 rounds, the final push, competitive rounds but Canelo is willing to take a few to land a few and he takes the rounds.

I think thats how i scored it, i was very much impressed with Canelo i didnt think he had what it takes to stand with any of the best at 160 let alone the top dog but he did. I think he did everything he could to to try win that fight but it was not enough. It was a shame to hear people boooing him at the end, boo the awful scorecards but dont boo the man who has given the mighty GGG one of the toughest fights of his life.

I thought round 10 was a very dramatic swing in momentum. The 9th was huge for Golovkin and then Álvarez rallied to claw his way back within reach (although he already needed a knockdown on my card to stave off a points loss by that point, even if he swept the championship rounds as I saw him indeed going on to do)

Now, this is a common trap I've spoken of before - the illusion of a guy being dominated in one round and having a much better subsequent round shouldn't mean you award him the latter simply for improving his lot - but in this case, in a vacuum, I really do think Álvarez deserved a 10-9 (even ignoring the poetic aspect of doing so from the brink of defeat in the ninth)

The first two sentences are probably about me. Or maybe I just assume that because I'm such an egotist. :D

I very much disagree with your scorecard but that last observation is astute.

Canelo is a student of the Sugar Ray Leonard school of "you can win a round with a flashy minute's worth of work and coast the rest", which I generally find ill-advised. (though it works for some people, sometimes, depending on the circumstances)

Anyone who thinks Byrd has been maligned is naive or lying, so Byrd just has to try and weather the **** storm & all is well again, how on earth can Byrd defend herself apart from saying this is a fit up...ie whats wrong? It is quite disgraceful and against everything any sport should stand for ...how anyone can suggest people are being to hard on this Judge has to be looked at with disdain!

    1. I swear my handwriting (print, not cursive) is a thing of beauty**. Not to brag or nothing, but you could scan & OCR my work into a typesetting script and it would be more perfect (to borrow Gouverneur Morris' turn of phrase) than any computer font.

** under ideal conditions, allowing me to calmly take my time and focus on every stroke. When scribbling myself notes without looking at the page even once in a three-minute period, forget it. You get ...that. Which nobody on earth but me would have a prayer of ever transcribing appropriately.

    2. ...presenting GIF's? What do I strike you as, the Biblical Magi? You saying I look to you like three dudes? You calling me FAT?!? I'm comfortable in my skin and posted my pic. Let's see yours, Christian Bale in the Machinist.

    3. Kessler would be HW champ today.
