Travis, though the way he fought I'd be inclined to say Tarvis snuck in the ring and fought in his place.

 

Ah much appreciated. I remember Travis putting on a terrible performance, capped off by a point deduction for continuous holding (despite winning the fight with ease at that point). Sucks for him.

I wonder which brother will turn up to face Golovkin.

 

Tarvis is not as good as Travis, but he spent most of his time north of 160, so I think he's the tougher Simms at MW. Golovkin needs just a few fights before going for the title, and Simms is a good test for first. 2 similar caliber and one top10 guy and he'll be ready, at least IMO.

 

Maybe they change after each round.

Some quotes from Simms from connpost. He sounds very confident and doesn't seem to care about his opponents style or strengths.

I've been using some tall fighters (as sparring partners), those rangy kind of fighters. I don't know what to expect when I get over to Europe. I don't watch tape of my opponents. I leave that to my trainers. My job is to prepare to fight. My philosophy behind that is you may give them too much respect or no respect at all.

Not only that, if I'm watching tapes and if he's throwing a million jabs in the tapes and he doesn't throw a million jabs at me, that might mess my plans up. I like to prepare for and expect everything coming at me. Then I can make my own adjustments when I'm in there. That's what a true professional does.

The thing is, I'm isolated. I have not had any distractions because, really, there's nothing else to do here. No TVs, nothing, everything is just focused on boxing. That's all you have to think about.

I'm ahead of schedule at this point. I feel good. I'm averaging like 60 rounds a week of sparring. I'm up running at 4:30 in the morning. Guys make a lot of fuss at getting up at 6 in the morning. They say the early bird gets the worm. I want to be the bird that gets that worm."

Simms has fought a bunch of no-hopers,journeymen,and club fighters back home in the USA.
Golovkin has already beaten relatively known names like Ian Gardner,Malik Dziarra,Javier Mamani,and Sergej Khomitskiy in his short pro career.

 

Golovkin already have beaten guys like future ATG De La Hoya etc....
