Apparently it will be a huge boost to GGG's resume according to many here. I hope it happens!

I bet GGG beats Lara easier than Monroe, I'm so confident in that. Lara doesn't have the volume punching and inside game to keep GGG honest for a bit. Once GGG gets close to Lara he won't know what to do, he'll just start taking big shots. I didn't know how good GGG was at cutting the ring, I was skeptical, but he made look pretty easy. Angulo was able to get close to Lara. Just watch GGG knocks out Lara before 6!
But we won't know for sure until that fight happens. It's going to be difficult to make.

Yeah Ward beats Golovkin though, unless GGG could land something big.

HBO would only allow this fight If they are completely sure that GGG knocks out Lara, which they aren't. But they are very interested in this KO to have it as a leverage with Canelo.

It's pretty lame that so many have such high expectations of Golovkin that they go nuts when a very fast and coordinated fighter lime Monroe puts so a few punches together and edges a round. Golovkin still dominated Monroe in a big way. Ward, Canelo Lara - would never have dominated Monroe this bad, but your feable minds took bits and pieces of a total thrashing to make a case against Ggg.

    good points..

GGG is now held to such a high bar that if he doesn't KO all opponents by 3rd round without taking 1 punch, it's considered a disappointing showing.

GGG dominated Monroe, a supremely athletic fighter with good speed and footwork. I was impressed with how GGG stalked him and didn't allow Monroe to dance and run. Monroe seems to figure out that his best chance was to throw a lot, to keep GGG honest. When Monroe starting exchanging more, he had more success but the additional risk he took led to his stoppage.

If anything, this fight shows that defensive fighters are in major trouble against GGG. He is good at cutting off the ring and stalking opponents; they can't dance circles around him. IMO, the way to beat GGG is to land and hurt him. If i had to pick a worst moment for GGG, it was when Monroe landed a flurry and GGG just shrugged it off. I'm not sure that would've worked against a big puncher. I do think that a big puncher with good boxing skills, but not necessarily very fast, has the best chance. Opponents have to keep him honest by hurting him, otherwise the train head on collision is inevitable.

Another thing some are picking on was GGG'd heavy breathing, well, it didn't stop him from throwing a lot and landing big shots, take note of that.

Dude, I'm a GGG fan and I was one posting doubts about his performance here. He kicked Monroe's ass but quite honestly looked kind of sloppy in the process. I didn't like seeing him tired like that either. Maybe I'll see it differently a second time around.

Canelo got to Lara quite often and Angulo did a number on him too.
