Reported on over at the scene. They say Golovkin's people have made a substantial offer to Geale for a fight between the 2 in Kazakhstan in September. Golovkin defends his WBA regular belt against Kassim Ouma next month in Panama. I'm a big fan of Geale but he would be way out of his depth here. Even if it was in Australia id still predict Golovkin to beat him. Technically to good and has 1 punch ko power.

Good find Hook. Here's that article in full:

    Golovkin Eyes Geale for Unification

by Per Ake Persson - Boxing Scene - 16th May 2011

The team behind WBA standard middleweight champ Gennady Golovkin have offered newly crowned IBF king Daniel Geale a substantial payday for a unification fight. Golovkin must of course win his upcoming defense against Kassim Ouma, scheduled for June 17, but his promotional team is claiming that he will be ready for a showdown against Geale by September in Kazakhstan.

As for Golovkin vs. Hassan N´Dam, the WBA's interim ruler, this fight would then happen after the fight against Geale.

Should Golovkin vs. Geale happen, and not end in a draw, then the WBA could end up having two super champions [Felix Sturm being the other] in the same weight division - and one interim ruler.

Certainly would be a dangerous fight for Geale - but he maintains he wants to fight the best. Hopefully he'll wait on this one.

Golovkin vs. Hassan N´Dam is a fight many of us have been looking forward to for some time.

As for having two 'Super Champions' in the same division - just a further demonstration of what an absolute farce boxing titles have become.

I like this, the offers are already tumbling in.

A fight that Geale can win without too much bother, and make sensible money.

Not a lot, only 3-4 fights on youtube. He looks good, but then most fighters do when the opponent is only average.

Who has Golovkin fought that is on par with Geale?

Tell the guy to win the full title before any aussie gives him respect :D

    :rofl:rofl:rofl

Dream on. Do you know anything about Golovkin? Golovkin is all risk with **** all financial reward. Let Golovkin sort out his own business in fighting N'Jikam.

Andy Lee is a fight he has a much better chance of winning and would generate way more dosh.

That's one more 'trinket' than your bloke brings to the table.

But Glovkin's name should be familiar - your bloke ducked him - remember.

Ok Einstein, so you must know how much the offer is, to be so informed?

Andy Lee is ok too, but how could he generate 'way more dosh'? :patsch

Reality seems to cause you angst and pain Ash :yep.

If you think putting me on ignore can keep you a step removed from that unhappy reality, it's probably a good idea.

Like Happy Gilmore you've found yourself a 'happy place'.

....yours being a world of DENIAL .

How much $ Golovkin is offering is the key.
If its smallish 6 figures no chance in hell it is happening.
Money talks & if Golovkin has the ability to offer as close as he can to 7 figures Geale's camp would have to think about it.

Golovkin is not that active because no one is in a hurry to fight him,has enormous power in both hands and probably one of the most feared Middleweights around at the moment, there are easier targets for Geale I assure you.!!!!
