I agree with this, GGG has slipped significantly. He did not hurt Canelo in anyway. If he will not KO his opponent, GGG is finished.

I had two dreams last night (true story - I take mirtazapine at night which guarantees dreams every night).

in the first, canelo was absolutely destroying golvkin in the rematch. it was a pretty short dream, but I remember golovkin complaining incessantly to the ref.
and in the second, I was fighting Floyd and Floyd won a majority decision, a result I was incredibly proud of. I have no idea what weight it was at because i'm 6'4" and 95kgs!

Whats even sadder is Bob Bennett & the NSAC are still backing Byrd. To me its no surprise though
though look at some of Dave Moretti 118/110 Floyd/Pac & Glen Ford's cards over the years

Well that plan might change. I applied for a transfer to Missouri and I just might get it before this fight happens. If so I'm selling this Cali shack and buying a Mid-West mansion, I'll just get a bigger TV and enjoy it from home.
Thanks for the support bro. I'm definite gonna make Todd blow dudes but only black ones for $5 each.

Many people were saying for years that as soon as GGG stepped up he would not look like an unstoppable Force..

As soon as he stepped up guess what happened, he did not look like an unstoppable Force.

Canelo landed some good punches, he also had some notable misses.

The thing I noticed about GGG in the led up to the ring entrance was the look he had on his face.

He didnt look scared, but he was different. What it looked like to me us that the day he says he had hoped to get to was finally right here and I think he had too many things to try to deal with.

The pressure he put on himself must have been immense! and he kinda choked in a way, by suddenly limiting himself to what we saw him doing in that ring against a guy who didnt fight anything like what he normally does.

Canelo did a Huey Fury by "boxing" his way out of danger and avoiding the fight he had promised to fight. And he did a good job of too, since he remained on his feet at the end of 12

I see GGG regaining his composure and shocking some of the people who say he hasn't got a prayer this time around.

Canelo and GGG are a great match and this time I think they will both leave it all in the ring.

    Good post.

I also think that Golovkin will digest the fight, think a bit about what happened and come to the conclusion that he cannot win on the cards and that he will have to brutalize Canelo to win.

That he will have to smash his body to smash his gas tank.

That Canelo actually has little chance of hurting him and that he will have to take more risks.

Between the two of them I think Sanchez and Golovkin will come up with the correct strategy to slow Canelo down and blast him out. Those slow paced early rounds were crucial for Canelo and I don't think he will get them this time around.

I like both guys. I believe Canelo will take the rematch, thought GGG won the first in a close fight but I didnt really have complaints in the draw (except by Byrds awful scoring, she has a history with that, gave 118-110 to Magdaleno against Donaire too...). But I think GGG is slowing down, father time takes everyone at some point. Canelo on the other hand seems to get better all the time.

I think Canelo takes it 7-5 but I might be wrong too. Dont really mind whoever wins, I just hope it will be a great fight for everyone

True not the unstoppable force and to be honest some of his fans must of been deluded as I can’t think of any boxer in history that just knocked everyone out, goes without saying that when you step up you simply not gonna be able to Get the KO,thing is GGG knows this as he said after the Jacobs fight that I’m a boxer not a killer,as a GGG fan myself I’m more than happy with him Boxing his way to a decision as his jab his such a prolific scoring shot for him and unlike some Knock out artists like Julian Jackson say Golovkin has more strings to his bow and due to his KO record he probably doesn’t get the credit he deserves for his boxing ability.
Totally agree about what you said about GGG being marked up,I expected this as did Montero actually.

Let's be real here. The jab is the safest punch to throw in boxing, you know it. The jab can be an excellent tool to set up your offense, but it's not the scoring punch all if a sudden some people make it out to be after Canelo-GGG.

I bet you the same guys saying GGG won because he landed more jabs would be saying Canelo Lost had it been him to land mostly jabs. Canelo landed hard clean power punches, Golovkin landed like two of those.

The point about GGG moving up still stands. To me he was on equal terms with Canelo un Canelo's first fight at MW. GGG is a great fighter today, but some people have overhyped him.

Golovkin has a fantastic jab by today's standards, but outside of that he's a one trick pony.
