GGG does not have a big name but it's the way he's reigning over his division.

Who else is there at 168 besides Ward :huh

Every popular figure at 168 has retired.. besides Ward

Quillin, Andy Lee, Lemieux, Cotto or Canelo are not competition?

I had thought so too but most of those title defenses arent of the full title... but the 'lesser' version.

Boxing orgs once again making a mockery of boxing history by making it harder to determine something as simple as title defenses.

Technically, Golovkin is only at 9 defenses. He wasn't promoted to "full" champion until Geale gave up the belt. So it has been from Rosado on. Still, at 4 fights a year, it would only take him 3 years.

Does anyone really care about paper title defenses anymore? With so many orgs defending a singular belt doesnt mean what it use to. Boxing greatness is about resume. Hopefully GGG can build his, but defending a paper title alone will not make him great.

I hate all these "titles". Hopkins was linear after he beat Tito.

    Right?

GGG isn't linear, through very little fault of his own, I'd guess.

Sturm was super champ, and Ggg was Regular champ up until Geale beat Sturm, basically you had 2 Wba champ.

Against the bums he is facing, He better set the all time record for title defenses. His best opponents, wouldn't be top 10 middleweights in the 90s. Guys that struggle and have tough fights with old Felix Sturm, aren't good middleweights. Recall a prime Sturm getting his **** handed to him by ancient Castillejo. That shows you what the middleweight division is now days when guys like Geale, Murray, and Macklin are having close controversial fights with Sturm.
