The fact that he's lost to Abraham (no shame there), Sturm, & Konecny (very good and underrated fighter) i really couldn't see him beating Golovkin. I realize Gennady doesn't have much of a resume yet but talent wise i believe he's a step above Konecny & Sturm already.
I'll take Golovkin on points. I think Gevor will give Golovkin ample opportunity to fight his fight, given he'll always be in range looking to come inside. I think the southpaw stance will actually do him more harm than good here, Golovkin's never really struggled with southpaws, he performed well against Dirrell in the Olympics who was primarily in the southpaw stance looking to use his speed and reach, so I think the right hand will be a big weapon for Golovkin here. I don't think he'll knock Gevor out, but I think Khoren will take a lot of right hands. Golovkin would land a lot of lead rights to the body especially as he can come under the straight left.
I haven't seen enough of either to make a call. Let's bump this up. I realize it isn't a Pac/May thread, but even on slow days very few on ESB care about guys not ranked #1.....
He didn't lose to Sturm. He got jobbed. I got Gevor UD. Gevor is he hardest working fighter in Boxing today.
