I'm surprised he won. I picked Darchinyan's superior boxing skills and power to carry him to a clear decision in, but I did anticipate his power would be a huge factor and prevent Mares from testing it. I was wrong, Mares has skills, but he can also take a beating. His youth and conditioning won him this fight. Glad I didn't bet.
I always had a fondness for Mares but now he is officially my favourite boxer. I had him beating Perez by a round also. That quite a resume he has for a 25 year old. He'll outbox Montiel in a Mexican superfight. This guy is a born champion.
Tough.... I couldn't make a statement like this. Would be a good fight though. I like both... To hard to pick a Favorite lol
