I'm a massive Haye fan and if it happens I will watch it but I'm a boxing ***** I'll watch anything. It will be a massive event because Sky will market the **** out of it and no-one will escape it. But the thought of it aint leaving the best taste in the mouth.
I've liked Haye since he turned pro, I've seen all of his fights. He's not thebest ever, actually I think he's sloppy. Entertaining though. Anyway, the reason I like Haye is that he didn't go with the flow, didn't sign with sports network and end up basically being Enzo Maccarinelli. Instead he took tough fights for a guy on the way up, a few vets, a few fellow undefeateds, revenged a few amateur losses. All that adds up to a real breath of fresh air in the British boxing scene. I can't speak for anybody else but I imagine a lot of others like him for the same reasons (let alone him being a ko artist with a dodgy chin who always has you holding your breath when you watch him fight). So with all that in mind, let me just say that I would rather tape a cheese-grater to each palm and wank for a week than see a fight with Harrison come off.
Im so so glad someone from outside the UK has posted this i really am :good For ****ing days ive been racking my brains thinking how people keep saying " but yes this is a sound business move " look man people who know boxing know Audley Harrison is a joke , people who know boxing know David Haye to be a somewhat legit world class fighter , ok the general public know Audley Harrison is a joke and the general public know David Haye is a world champion , clearly im referring to England here ....... , ok with that in mind how the **** can this be a sound business move , ill admit i dont know enough on how money is generated from a fight , i realise you have the gate , you have the PPV numbers but outside of that im really not clued up on what else generates the income , i know that in the likes of Las Vegas you get a huge site fee from the hotels namely the MGM and in return they take a % of the gate hense ridiculous ticket prices ............. anyway . But i also have come to the conclusion that This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected
If Haye fights fraudly then it just shows you what a bunch of mug ****s he thinks the brit fight fans are & we all know Harrison does, i'll watch it for free just out of curiousity & weep with laughter if the fraud flukes it:rofl But i'll never ever put one ****in penny into the pockets of these 2 **** taking jokes:nono
Hardcore fans on here saying they don't want to watch it are very much in the minority. Any fight with Haye now will make decent PPV figures. One with a fellow Brit who has a big mouth and is currently the most well-known active boxer on these shores behind Hatton and Haye will make BIG PPV figures.
As more or less everyone on this thread has said - the hardcore fans don't want to watch this fight. They know what it is - mismatch. However, Haye is now more or less a household name in the UK and Harrison is the only other HW who the general public know. Your casual sports fan will be interested by this fight, they will want to watch it and the trash talking will get a lot of people interested.
I'm not sure what you're getting at with this arguement. People can watch it but still think it's a **** fight. I will watch it because I'm a Haye fan and world level fighters only seem to fight once every 6 months at best these days, but I still think it's bobbins. Haye needs to have a stern word with himself if he's seriously considering this.
the only reason people will watch this is to see audley take a serious beatdown and get sent into retirement, plus with audleys height and reach its not the worst preperation for a tall klitscko is it? anyway now that audleys dumped that euro strap he will get frozen out, that was at least some bargaining power for a shot at a world title and dumping that belt will be the biggest mistake he has made. i smell a fight with chisora or fury come xmas time.
I would find seeing Harrison getting battered an interesting spectacle. However given it would deprive us of a Klit matchup then the fight is a joke and can go to hell.
Some good replies in this thread. :good The reason i made it, is because some primadonna's suggested this is going to be a fight similar to Bruno vs Lewis or Eubank vs Benn. Bull****; even if Bruno usually lost when stepping up, at least he was loved by the public. Who cares about Harrison? Yes. I would be lying if i said i wouldn't watch this fight. I love boxing, i'll watch Haye fight Mickey Mouse. But i'd rather watch him fight one of the Big Ukranians, a Chagaev, Povetkin or Adamek.
BAM!!! There it is right there, thats what i wanted. They an't even big boxing fans, and they know him. There is no turning back now, i have quoted this ****. Audley Harrison, weather it be a household Joke, Household name, houshold athlete. People know of him, and his story......................... Personally i don't see him as a joke, he is olympic champion and dedicates to a very tough sport. And at 38 years of age, he is still here and sticking to his word....... Some people call him delluded, i call him a man. Men are meant to stick to there words, that is something forgotten in todays society.
